Tony then threw his heel pads at Kenny's car and actually held onto a bar from the car and chased him around the racetrack!!!! Man!!! 3. je24go posted: 10.26.2005 - 7:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Alot of drivers who hadn't run up front in a while ran up front all race long. Nemechek and Musgrave ran up front in the first half; Petty, Kenny Wallace and Geoff Bodine were up in the top 10 for the whole race. 4. smoke20ri posted: 03.30.2006 - 3:25 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Tony and Kenny were friends and when Tony won a race after Kenny died, Tony gave Kenny's family the trophy. 5. He would eventually finish 7th 5 times in 1999! What a contrast for John Andretti. He won the race in April, but crashed out and finished last in October. Every car completed more than half the race. 6. Thomas posted: 08.28.2006 - 8:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I remember them acting like Evernham died when Jeffie Gordo won this race. One quote was: "The first one Ray didn't see was the first one Jeff won with his new crew chief Brian Whitesell". 7. They never really made good on this early promise, though. A year later Bodine was nearly killed at Daytona necessitating a vegetable soup of substitutes who all tore through a lot of equipment and that was that. 8. Tim Fedewa's last attempt at a Cup race. 10. chad posted: 07.03.2007 - 12:46 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) THAT WAS MY 1ST EVER NASCAR RACE TO ATTEND MY FAMILY IS A JEFF GORDON FAN I GLAD HE WON IT 11. If so, that's a shame; looks like it got banged-up in the lap 418 caution. 13. Art D posted: 06.26.2009 - 11:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) J. Gordon matches J. He did and got behind cars, he passed them all after the restart and got to Gordon with about 2 laps left, but he needed a few more. Earnhardt scored the most points on short tracks and restrictor plate tracks in 1999. He was officially back. 16. When Bill Weber is interviewing Brian Whitesell right after the race ends a fan begins to stand behind Whitesell. When this happens Bill Weber immediately grabs the fan and pulls him away from the camera view. Thought it was kinda funny. 18. The caution on lap 404 was so that the ambulance could leave the track to transport the track worker to the local hospital. 19. Schroeder51 posted: 09.28.2014 - 2:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The injured track worker's name was Randy Hall, and he had been seriously injured under the caution for the accident that took John Andretti out of the race. He fell off the back of one of the safety vehicles while it was traveling at about 25 MPH, striking his head on the pavement and suffering a severe head injury. 20. Bobby Hamilton stopped to avoid hitting Bickle and Andretti plowed into the back of Hamilton. The surprising names littering the top 10 for long stages in this race was a combination of those guys having great runs all day and some good timing with pit stops when the second Stewart-Irwin caution happened in the middle of a green flag pit stop cycle. 22. jp posted: 12.21.2018 - 2:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sponsor Update: #77-Robert Pressley: Jasper Engines/Sealed Power Pistons Source: https://imgur.com/a/vRvVac6 23. Both cars suffered major nose damage in the accident that sent them both to the garage along with Bickle and Nemechek. 24. Very impressive win during the Spring winning on only two new tires on the last run. Big upset victory. 25.
