I was deathly ill and watching Jeff Gordon win only made it worse... The 11th place finish was one of very few really respectable runs for Bill that season. 2. Bobby punched his wheel four or five times in frustration (or disgust, or whatever) as the 24 went by. It showed a fired up side to a normally cool and calm Labonte, and it must have gotten him all riled up for the following year! 7. Edwards won the race but Johnson finished second and won the championship. 10. Downright incredible. I Loved it. 11. Sean posted: 10.04.2016 - 9:16 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Evernham clearly set up those cars before he left. You can tell which ones Whitesell or Loomis set up because Gordon was largely a non-factor in fighting for the lead particularly in the last four races of '99 and the first two thirds of 2000 before his speed began to return at the tail end of 2000. It's kind of like when Chad Knaus was suspended in the first 4 races of 2006 and Darian Grubb technically won the Daytona 500 and at Las Vegas for Johnson, but Knaus still set up the cars... 12. 18fan posted: 10.04.2016 - 9:59 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #11, The ESPN crew mentioned that on, I think, the Atlanta broadcast in the last race of 1999. 13.
