This was the 3rd time in less than a year that Jeff Burton won a
rain-shortened race, leading to the "Rain Main" moniker for a time.

I remember reading in Tony Stewart's autobiography about how upset he
was that he lost this race. He said: "Isn't Las Vegas in the desert?"

Another cookie cutter track, Bruton is going to ruin the sport someday,
maybe they will just run 38 races at Texas by 2010

This was the second time that Jeff Burton won the erstwhile "Winston No
Bull" million dollars by virtue of a rain-shortened race. The other was
the 1999 Southern 500 at Darlington.

Dull as dishwater.

It was cool that Scott Pruett had the outside pole, though, alongside
the Tide Ride's former captain, Ricky Rudd.

Crazy that a race in the desert would get rain shortened. There were
several guys that pitted when the caution came out and never had the
chance to get their positions back.

Thank God the race was in Vegas.
withoou Vegas, this would have been a lost weekend. The race was to the
caution flag and not on the track. Had a blast on the strip though!

Mike Joy said that Kurt Busch won the pole in this race. But Kurt didn't
make his debut until September later on at Dover.
