Spencer's quote when asked by John Kernan if he'd seek payback: "He isn't worth my sweat to go after." Yeah, whatever Jimmy. 2. Steve said he thought Dale would be furious at him, but Big E said, "The boy did what I paid him to do." 3. I remember sitting in turn 1 and hearing Rusty's car drop a cylinder. He ran around most of the race in the back with his car sounding like a lawn mower until it finally expired. Man was I mad that Gordon won too, luckily he was caught cheating and penalized. 4. mcmurrayfan posted: 03.03.2007 - 1:53 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) First race that Evernham Racing competed in, with Casey Atwood driving a Ford. 5. It was retired and replaced with his current flame one at the end of the 2000 season. 6. I can't recall what it was, but he was certainly penalized for something. 11. Ryan posted: 07.24.2011 - 12:16 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) This is Ryan the Earnhardt fan, not the one that said he wasn't caught cheating. I believe Gordon had an illegal intake manifold and they set him back 100 points, but let him keep the win. There was a big controversy because of it too. Earnhardt was a No Bull 5 contender, and had he won this race at Richmond which was a No Bull 5 race for some reason, he would have won a million dollars and so would have a fan. I think Nascar had to give the fan so much money or other valuables where Dale was the top finishing car that was legal. 12. 00andJoe posted: 08.07.2011 - 11:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Michael Ritch's DNQ was the #55 Davis & Weight Motorsports Ford, owner Jerry Davis. 13. They only used the 2000 Taurus headlights. One thing the did have though was the signature 'E on the 9' number font that the Everham team's cars would use for years in NASCAR, this race was the first time it was used. 14. Around lap 80, I noticed 4 of the 5 (Jarrett, Kenseth, and both Earnhardts) were all in a close battle for 16th. Among the No Bull 5 drivers, only Bobby Labonte actually ran in the top 5 for much of the night. Ultimately, Jarrett finished 18 laps down with multiple issues, Kenseth blew an engine, Labonte lost power steering late, and Earnhardt Jr. just ran poorly all night. Earnhardt Sr. was coming at the end, but only because he had fresh tires and the leaders didn't. 28.
