This would be as close to Jeff Gordon as Dale Jarrett, Ricky Rudd, or anyone else would be in points for the rest of the season. 11. BON GORDON posted: 07.07.2011 - 12:47 am Rate this comment: (3) (0) No, sorry. Dale Jarrett would be tied with Gordon in points after the next race as well. Dale Jarrett would win and Jeff Gordon wound up finishing 2nd. 12. beau posted: 09.12.2011 - 6:11 pm Rate this comment: (7) (0) sucks that robert pressley never won. 13. We had comp tickets from Geoff Bodine and were able to park the mobile home right alongside the crew and drivers. We had full access to the garage and Pit Lane - it is a day I will never forget! Good food, good people, and a great race to kick off Chicagoland! 15. myself posted: 06.04.2013 - 2:12 pm Rate this comment: (3) (5) A legendary....gas man?! LOL!!!!!!!!!! 16. ANDY HOUSTON WAS SABOTAGED posted: 12.24.2013 - 11:34 am Rate this comment: (7) (6) Andy Houston's car did not start at the beginning of the race. His car was (dare I say it) SABOTAGED. His gears were f'ed up so he wouldn't run the race. A lot of high powered McDonald's executives were in attendance for the race. After this race, they were disappointed and notified by Cal Wells that McDonald's would scale back and eventually, leave NASCAR for a brief time. Rumor has it, Cal Wells used his good stuff in Craven's car and used Houston as a R&D car. 17. numbah10hatah posted: 01.02.2014 - 7:51 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) ^ What's up with this guy????? 18. Quite interesting. 28. Mile501 posted: 02.21.2020 - 1:52 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Even though comment #6 was made a long time ago, I just finished re-watching this race and would like to clarify that Marlin did not ram into Stewart in the way it is described in comment #6. Stewart simply got loose, possibly aided by how close Marlin was running behind him. Once Stewart's car wiggled, Marlin didn't have time to react and ran into Stewart, spinning him out. It was a great result for Ford, taking positions 2nd-8th. However, Pressley and the Roush cars were running back in the teens and stayed out during a caution with about 30 to go, stretching their fuel. The Yates cars and with Spencer, though, ran well throughout the race. 29. Tony Stewart at Homestead, Jeff Gordon at Kansas and Kevin Harvick at Chicagoland. 30. My proof is I still have the tickets and programs to this day.My ticket has the Section, row, seat and said $85.00 for the original cost of the ticket. The ticket said inaugural Event, Sunday, 15th, 2001. It said Inaugural Tropical 400. The ticket also had Bobby Labonte's 18 car on it with having Interstate Batteries being the biggest sponsor on the hood of the car. There is two other sponsors with smaller writing on the hood of the car that the ticket shows Circuit City and MBNA with with the car make Pontiac. The ticket also said NASCAR Winston Cup series on it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
