Multiple cars slipped in the oil - which is how Kenseth got the lead back from Marlin - before NASCAR threw the yellow, and the race ended under caution. 2. brandon posted: 03.12.2006 - 4:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) first race using the one engine per weekend rule 3. A driver won after starting 25th. As many years as it took for this to happen the first time, it would be done two more times in 2002. Once by Mark Martin at the 600 and again by Kenseth at Richmond. Kenseth would do this two more times once at Las Vegas in 2004 and again at California in 2007 which also is the most recent time it has been done. The only other drivers besides Kenseth and Martin to start 25 and win were Biffle, Earnhardt Jr., and Kyle Busch all in 2005. 8. DJ would come back and win this race a year later in 2003 after a fantastic late race duel with Kurt Busch. The Rock was a great track for Jarrett from 1996-2004. 9. For whatever reason, the race reports list the caution coming out for the #16 car when there was no such car in this race. 10. Slow pit work hurt Craven. Jarrett blew up leading. Marlin was out-dueled by Kenseth late. Green's team didn't keep up with adjustments before losing a cylinder late. Rudd broke a kill switch on pit road while leading and lost a lap before it re-fired. Labonte never quite got to front, but was one of the fastest cars late. As was the usual in the early-mid 2000s, Kenseth's pit crew was killer. Kenseth was also outstanding on restarts. 13. Not the best way to go out as Todd Bodine wrecked a few times and Joe Nemechek spun and hit the wall early. But fear not, as Discover Card would come on sponsor Todd Bodine on the #26 and Todd would win the pole at Vegas the next week. Joe Nemechek would not be out of work for long, he would find other work as Jerry Nadeau was released from the 25 ride and Nemechek was brought aboard to replace him. KMART would eventually drop the Big K moniker and return to just being K Mart a few years ago and they haven't entered NASCAR since. 15.
