Jeff Burton's eninge went up in a cloud of smoke as he took the checkered flag - talk about a 400-mile engine. 2. Kind of reminds you of Petty Enterprises. 4. Another should have won for Elliott during his EMS run... 11. Bill got the lead very early ... it was the same car that he won with at Homestead, Pocono, and Indy. Looked like he was going to challenge for the win, but his shifter kept getting knocked out when he was in gear. That kept him from competing for the win. After the problem occurred, Elliott pitted and restarted dead last. He pretty much drove the rest of the race with one hand while kicking in and out of gear, and was able to PASS CARS to boot, despite dropping down to as little as 2000 rpms ... that was EXTREMELY impressive. Bill Elliott may have finished 22nd (after restarting dead last after the problem occurred), but this was one of his most impressive runs ever. Benny Parsons (god rest his soul) was so impressed, the following week at Bristol, Benny awarded Bill and his crew his "Golden Benny" Award. 15.
