Gordon passed Labonte to the right on the restart, but Labonte came back a couple laps later. Comments: Team Rensi's first attempt at making a Cup race failed with driver Bobby Hamilton Jr. 2. It wasn't like '02 with Tony winning at my home track, but it was still great to see Bobby win especially by moving around Gordo to do it. 5. biffle16 posted: 02.09.2007 - 4:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Greg Biffle's 10th Cup start. Dave Blaney had a great day too, as well as Joe Nemechek, and only 9 drivers finished on the lead lap. 9 engines blow up, as well as 3 Roush engines. 7. 4320 posted: 03.18.2008 - 3:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Once again, another dominating performance by Mr. Atlanta himself, Bobby Labonte. This was Bobby's 6th and most recent victory at Atlanta, making him the winningest active driver at the track. Stats at Atlanta: Wins Top 5 Top 10 Laps Led 6 12 13 959 8. Without an engine blowing in the 43, an engine in the 96, and being hit by David Stremme in the 71, he could have still possibly have had added another win, top 5, or top 10 to his stats at Atlanta. 9. Bobby Labonte won at Atlanta in 1996 in the team's final race with the Bow Tie brand before the switch then won again here in just its fourth points race back with Chevrolet. This ended up being Labonte's penultimate Cup victory and his last at Atlanta, one of his best tracks. Only six of Labonte's 21 wins came in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. 19.
