Taking the lead and holding on to a loose car and holding back jimmie johnson. 2. Anonymous posted: 03.01.2005 - 8:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) DEI and Hendrick have more motor problems. 3. Which is a shame about Nemechek because he would've won. 4. Guy's 39th in the points again going to Las Vegas and it's not of his doing. Biffle was fast at the end and held on. He deserved the victory after Nemechek blew up. 5. Shows how great the Roush orginnization has become. Great win for Biffle the Bug-Eyed Dummy. 7. I was hoping Harvick could win in front of his home crowd, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. 11. Matter in fact he was closing so damned fast that he probably would have caught Biffle in Turn 1. I am not a big Biffle fan, but I am happy he won over Jimmie because Jimmie just annoys the heck out of me. ;/ This was the 1st race with the new 4 1/2 inch spoiler(down an inch from the 2004 season). The new gear rule. Alot of drivers said this made side by side racing next to near impossible. Deal with it I say. Biffle sure did in 2005 and was the king of driving a "loose" racecar. This was a decent race to see in person and with the 48 car charging at the end it got pretty exciting. Certainly better than the 1st race at Cali in 2006. I was there for that too and that one was probably the worst of all the Cali races I've been to. Oh well; it's still racing, but we might need to re-bank Cali ala Homestead. Variable banking at 14, 15, and 16 degrees just might do the trick for Cali and create some great side by side racing. 12. Andre posted: 10.07.2010 - 3:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Let it be known that the 24 of Jeff Gordon was doomed from the get-go on this particular weekend. Why? The "24" on each side of the car were "leaning" towards the front of the car, whereas they're always "leaning" towards the back. She was aerodynamically screwed, and the engine had to work twice as hard... and she blew. lol Not really. But the numbers were indeed screwed up for this race, and none other (that I can recall) were ever that way on the 24. 18. Brian Vickers was only 21 while starting on the outside pole. 24. sk posted: 12.05.2013 - 2:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This race can lay claim to another piece of NASCAR history: 9 former champions took the green flag, setting what today stands as the all-time record. #97 Kurt Busch #17 Matt Kenseth #20 Tony Stewart #24 Jeff Gordon #18 Bobby Labonte #88 Dale Jarrett #2 Rusty Wallace #44 Terry Labonte #21 Bill Elliott. It would happen sporadically throughout the season when Terry and Bill both showed up to race, but with names from this list starting to fade away and only two new champions having filled the gap, it may be many years before we see another lineup so rich in history. 25. luigistarted06 posted: 04.04.2014 - 5:02 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) One of a couple races Nemechek could have won in 05 26.
