Amazing run for Carl who finished the day off with his signiture back flip off his car on the front stretch. The race was somewhat marred by a 10 car wreck on the backstretch on lap one that involved Bobby Labonte, Jeff Gordon, Robby Gordon,Matt Kenseth, Jeff Burton, Kurt Busch, Casey Mears,Kyle Petty, Shane Hmiel, and Travis Kvapil 2. Brian posted: 03.21.2005 - 1:27 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Yes, a big dissapointment for Labonte and Rudd. But what a win for Carl. With 2 to go he reaches Johnson and drag races him to the line to edge him out barely. Of course doing his famous backflip, and he was so happy and modest. He is one great talent and person. 6. He almost landed on his head. 8. Mike D posted: 03.21.2005 - 8:41 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Great win, another great atlanta finish for the weekend. Johnson didnt win! Im surprised.... although he did finish second, not surprising. 9. And he almost did. But a great win for Carl; it was also nice to see Waltrip make the top 10 without his engine blowing up. 10. If it's someone who has the same name as me or someone who's mad at me, PLEASE STOP THIS!!! I realized before I stopped comenting on this site in late January that I said some things on here I may regret. Yeah I'm not a fan of Jeff Gordon, but I wouldn't put something on here like that one guy did. So please put this to an end. Besides that, I'm not gonna visit this site any more. GOODBYE!!!! 14. They outqualified their corporate teammates of Junior and Mikey, and they don't even get to finish 1 lap. 19. Anonymous posted: 05.28.2005 - 2:41 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) "Corporate teammates"? Corporate only in the sense of engine leasing ... I don't feel bad for them, because Hmiel has a serious attitude problem. I still say that they need to check his piss more carefully. That, or he fried a couple of brain cells a few years back that aren't coming back. Kevin Harvick drives the ugliest paint scheme of the year so far, bar none. Except maybe Bobby Labonte's Richmond car. 20. I think this loss for Johnson was the best thing that could have happened to him. Since then, he has pulled off the same move that Edwards did to win at Charlotte and at Las Vegas (the two times he has been in position to do so). 24. mk17ce99 posted: 08.14.2006 - 7:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Definately an awesome race. Or are you being sarcastic? I mean, the 32 surely didn't get a great start at all, but I thought he just spun his tires or simply didn't go. In fact, I remember DW saying on the broadcast, just seconds after his traditional Boogity routine, "I don't think (Bobby Hamilton Jr.) heard me.." 40. 88&4Fan posted: 01.31.2016 - 6:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) No he really did 41. In terms of degree of difficulty, it was a 10/10 and over Jim Johnson of all people. Quite honestly, one of the finer displays of driving I've seen. Just watched the replay again...Wow! 44. Foote posted: 04.07.2020 - 12:03 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) With 5 laps to go, this is what DW said: "Smart thing for Edwards to do here is don't wreck the car, and let Biffle go." Biffle was closing on him for 2nd place, and it looked like there was no chance that Edwards would win. Atlanta used to produce some insane finishes! 45.
