But a huge congratulations for Michael Waltrip and Dale Jr. Both DEI cars in the top 5! Not to mention Jeff Burton, Brian Vickers, Labonte, Kyle Busch, and Nemechek. What a top 10! 2. It looked like Kurt Busch was going to blow by Waltrip and take an easy victory, but Waltrip refused to give up til he finally brushed the wall in the final laps. Great run by Jeff Burton, without much attention. Earnhardt, Jr. recovered from what looked to be another mediocre day to finish fourth. Brian Vickers looked strong during portions of the race, and almost never fell out of the top ten in the race en route to finishing fifth. Nice to see some unexpected faces in the top five. 3. Do he and Biffle have any idea of what they're accusing these guys of? "Gee I've got one hell of a race car, I think I'm gonna brake check and throw it all away." 4. Take out Johnson and put anyone else in there, for isntance Vickers (I looked at the results and thats the first name I saw) and have it happen, "Oh well, thats racin. It sucks. Oh well." 5. But I could have cried when he brushed the wall instead of making the pass. He could have won it; he had the car to win it; he just couldn't quite bring it all together. As Michael himself put it he just plain "ran out of talent". 7. But extra props go to Johnny Sauter for 9th, and Mike Waltrip for absolutely refusing to give up. Well done, Waltrip. 9. carl edwards fan posted: 04.25.2005 - 1:23 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) didnt like this race. probabley the most boring race of the season besides martinsville for me... cant wait for talladega ;) 10. Also, congrats to Brian Vickers on his first career top 5 finish and Johnny Sauter on his first career top 10 finish. It's ironic that Michael Waltrip in the Cup race and Michael Schumacher in the F1 race both drove their guts out but had to settle for 2nd. 11. He could've won it had he pitted with Busch. 12. Chicago posted: 04.29.2005 - 1:53 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) More bad luck for Matt Kenseth, not of his making. 13. I can't wait for him to win a non-plate race and silence all the critics. 14. Earnheat Junyo Phan! posted: 05.07.2006 - 2:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Debut for Clint Bowyer 15. Just 12 laps into the race, he hit the spinning car of Jason Leffler (who I could not stand after that, as that was like the 5th time in the first 8 races he had spun) and was relegated to 26th. Until Indianapolis, the 21st race of the year, Sterling did not finish any better than 16th. And after this stretch was over, after Indianapolis, he was down I think to 24th in points and after that only got one more top ten after getting three in the first seven races. 18. Sadler's car promoted the Dark Side (hence the Dark Chocolate M&M's) and Jarrett's car promoted the Light Side. There was also writing on the back bumpers of the cars with Sadler's proclaiming 'Go to the Dark Side' with Yellow M&M donning a Darth Vader helmet and Jarrett's car proclaiming 'Join the Jedi' with Red M&M donning Jedi robes. Pretty cool looking cars I must say. 26. cba2442 posted: 05.14.2020 - 12:50 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Under the 3rd caution of this race (between laps 133-145), there was a power outage in the Nascar scoring stand so they had to red flag the race for a few minutes before getting the race back going again. 27.
