Him and Kasey both. There is no need for that in racing today. If you have aproblem with a driver beat his ass up in the garage after the race, you dont need to involve other people in your pre school antics. 4. Chicago posted: 09.20.2005 - 12:37 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Y'know, it cracks me up. Robby Gordon beats and bangs his way around the track every week, ramming cars into the wall, wrecking people with moves way over his head, spinning out three or four times because in the eight years of oval racing ... then when someone who has been lying down and taking other drivers' shit all year decides he's not going to take it and doesn't cut Robby some slack, and Robby ends up in the fence, he bitches and moans like it's the end of the world and complains and calls for that drivers' head. Robby needs to grow up. If you're going to play with fire, sometimes you'll get burnt. If you drive dirty, others will race you dirty. I am glad Mike Waltrip stuck up for himself for a change and I'm glad Robby got some of his own medicine. It's a farce he's going to be allowed to race at Dover - he not only endangered himself by going after Waltrip's moving car, but he almost ran over safety workers doing his "back up in front of oncoming traffic" move and almost took out Stewart, the championship leader. Can you imagine if he had slipped throwing his helmet and someone ran him over? The guilt they'd have to go through? What a fool is all I have to say. He should go race trucks in the desert or something and leave oval racing to the professionals - something which he is obviously not. Then NASCAR says something about "harsher penalties" and gives Kahne and Gordon slaps on the wrist and gives Waltrip a penalty for a gesture that no one has really seen? Great job, goes to show you how screwed up things are today. Congratulations to Ryan Newman in one of the fiercest battles for the win we've seen all year. 5. And even this year, G. Bodine thinks he's competitive enough to run in the Daytona 500. For Geoff Bodine, he had his days. But now, he only makes a fool of himself and shows he's only a has been. As for Robbie Gordon, he never has been. He may get around the road courses, but in light of his performances, I'd call them flukes. There is something about him and New Hampshire that he takes this persona that it's his track and no matter where he is running, no matter how many laps down he is, all drivers are supposed to get out of his way, cause he's got a 'Bad attitude' Robbie Gordon should be suspended. Kahne and Kyle Busch should be parked. As for Waltrip, he has enough trouble keeping his car out of the fence, he doesn't need any 'assistance' from anyone putting his car in the wrong direction, or the wall for that matter. As for Scott Riggs comments about Kurt Busch being man enough to admit he's wrong or that he made a mistake, the old addage "Lead, follow or get out of the way" comes to mind. Riggs isn't anything special and he really ought to get out of the way, as in another series, or something. Talk about a waste of sponsorship money. At least Valvoline finally got their act together and are going with at least a reputable team owner next year. More power to Ryan. Good to see two Hoosier racers battling it CLEANLY for the win. This is a preview of what Penske racing will be like next year when Rusty's ego is retired and Newman can lead Penske Racing the way it should be, a threat to win every week. Go Roush! Three-peat, now matter which one of em wins the championship. 6. Mike D posted: 09.23.2005 - 1:26 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Congrats to Ryan. As well as Dale Jr and Rusty. The Robby Gordon incident was total BS. As stated above he wrecks someone every race, and when the same happens to him, well we saw what he did. By the way what about that 5 second delay? NASCAR, yet again, has shot themselves in the foot with the penalties. More inconsistincy...Robby should've been parked for 2 or 3 races for behavior like that. 7. larry spencer posted: 10.06.2005 - 9:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Hey Greg (who said about he should be parked)racin is racin Rusty runnin over Spencer proved what 8. Steve posted: 01.18.2006 - 11:29 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) You know, it's really easy to criticize Robby Gordon for trying to ram his wrecked car into Michael Waltrip's car, and throwing his helmet at him as he drove by, and calling him a "piece of shit", but first you should think about the terrible season he was having. One Top 10 finish (2nd at the Glen), and certainly he expected some difficulty, but not this much. He rarely had a car that was capable of running in the Top 5, and, yes he could have cut Michael some slack in Turns 1 & 2, but also Michael could have likewise cut Robby some slack, since the caution flag was out. Besides, before you put down a driver for showing how he feels in that way, you try racing around a track with 42 other drivers who want all they can get, and see if you can handle it! B.T.W. We need more drivers that aren't afraid to show how mad they are at someone. 10. biffle16 posted: 01.28.2007 - 2:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well said, Chicago! 11. Busch killed the radiator but insisted on driving it back around to the garage, spewing fluid and smoke all over the place, and despite a very lengthy caution period the rest of the drivers all immediately complained on the radio about the excess speedy-dry still on the track at the restart. It took all of about 2 laps before inexperienced rookie JJ Yeley hit the kitty litter just right entering the first turn and suddenly found himself backed into the wall after snapping around at a speed that alarmed the TNT booth. From there, the rest of the field just opted to not run in the speedy-dry's line for a while. That issue was compounded even further when Dave Blaney dropped rear end grease on the track, and the booth also alluded to Wayne Anderson's engine failure being a legitimate problem (which I'm not so sure I believe, but ok). Kurt Busch's march to Scott Riggs' pit box for a conversation with #10 CC Rodney Childers was surprisingly bloodless, and while there was going to be no situation in which Kurt left happily, it sure could have been much worse for Kurt. A flat left rear tire caused Joey McCarthy to go for a spin on the backstretch under the caution for Kasey Kahne & Kyle Busch's run-in. It was the second race in a row that there had been a spin under caution. Add in Kahne's retaliation towards Busch, and there were two distinct incidents under the same caution flag. Two cautions later, while the Michael Waltrip vs. Robby Gordon feud was unfolding, Mike Bliss had a brake rotor blowout under caution - Bliss had been the primary cause of the caution when he wrecked with Joe Nemechek - and subsequently picked up race-ending crash damage. 30. The only time I've ever seen that before was in a youth division of legends cars locally, and the tower actually followed through and pulled the field off to call the race early when they wrecked again. Don't think you could go to quite that drastic of a measure in the Cup series! 34. TheDewCrew posted: 08.01.2020 - 1:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) One of the most underrated races of all-time.
