Fast race, as well - Mike Waltrip's engine grenaded (the tenth race he failed to finish this year, that car is just cursed), Greg Biffle had two self-spins bringing out cautions, and there were the usual "NASCAR finds something to bring out a caution" but that was about it. Some great dicing for the lead late in the event, with Tony Stewart, Mark Martin and Carl Edwards all looking strong, and Matt Kenseth led handily early on but faded once he got back in traffic. Jimmie Johnson wasn't spectacular all day, but grinded his way to a fifth place finish critical to his championship efforts. 3. I can think of maybe two races this year I've truly enjoyed. 5. Gus T. posted: 11.12.2005 - 3:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) As much as I wanted Mark to win, Carl earned this one. Great to see Hamlin in the top-10 again! It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he makes the Chase next year. Not a single wall-banger all race! First time that's happened this year! Waltrip didn't even give an interview after his engne failure, so you know that he's ready to get away from Richie Gilmore. 6. Tony didn't come out on top in the deal but that was fun to watch. 7. JJ Lehto posted: 12.01.2005 - 4:07 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Carl's 4th win. Isn't that a rookie year record? 8. They've gotten more competetive so "Mr. Excitement" (toupee and all) can't finish up near the middle of the pack and have his ugly useless mug a little closer to the front? 13. biffle16 posted: 07.18.2007 - 12:24 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kurt Busch's last race with Roush. 14. Good run for Denny Hamlin, who wasn't even yet a rookie. 15. Evan posted: 12.02.2011 - 9:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Greg Biffle's terrible performance in this race where they could not get the car to handle doomed his title hopes. 2005 was to be Greg Biffle's year, had there not been a Chase he might have a better shot at it, but Biffle just struggled with the handling down the stretch of the season, and they swung a little too far in this contest. Its a shame because 2005 was his best shot at a title and Greg Biffle has not been the same since this race. His best effort since was a 3 win performance in 2009. To his credit though Greg has gotten the car into victory lane the next few season, unfortunately he has yet contend like he did in 2005. 16. dUDE gUY posted: 08.31.2012 - 6:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Uh, Evan... Biffle didn't win ANY Cup races in '09, let alone 3... In fact, he's only had more than 2 wins in a season once, in 2005 with 6. Maybe next time you may want to look somewhere other than your pooper for your statistical information. Perhaps, and this might sound crazy, but perhaps a site that indexes thousand upon thousand of individual driver stats. A site that will instantly let you search for any of those drivers. A site that will give you a year-by-year overview of how many wins and such a driver has earned per year? Hmm, but where to ind such a site? Hrrm, hmmm... oh darn, I just don't know where you'd find such a thing... Oh, wait a second! I might just know! Perhaps maybe, just maybe (and don't quote me on it because I am not entirely sure), but just maybe perhaps you'd find this info on the site you were on when you posted that reply? I dunno, just a thought. 17. David posted: 11.22.2012 - 11:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) dUDE gUY, only the first two sentences of that post were necessary.
