My, was Jamie McMurray close to winning this race or what? How
appropriate to have won on his birthday. But not at Kenseth's expense.

Didn't the announcers say a member of Kenseth's Busch series team died
in a vehicle crash? Did Kenseth mention this in victory lane? Was I
imagining I heard this?

Matt Kenseth only won this race because the leaders get held up each
other racing everyone for position. Dover sucks and Matt Kenseth sucks,
thank you for ruining Jamie Mcmurray's birthday, Matt.

I laugh when I read these things. Matt's car came to him as he decided
not to pit when Robbie Reiser wanted him to. It would have put him back
with Mark Martin and Carl Edwards who couldnt come back to the front.

The car was setup good. Kenseth's car could run everywhere. It wasn't as
good up high as it was down low. McMurray's car could only run high. And
before the leaders even caught heavy traffic Kevin Harvick was working
on McMurray which also helped Kenseth. In the end Matt has the win and
thats all that matters.

I was at Dover and there was no way McMurray was going to win unless
they shortened the race or someone crashed at the front. He took a risk
by not pitting around lap 295 (approx). It almost worked but at the end
Kenseth, Harvick and Burton were faster and it was just a matter of time
before they caught #26. Matt Kenseth sucks? He wins races, he's won a
championship and he's a relatively clean racer I guess if that adds up
to "sucks" I should go back to the dictionary.

Tough break for Jamie... he had a decent car out front, but Kenseth had
a better car at the end since Jamie didn't pit. Jeff Burton also had a
good car, as did Harvick.

Like I said before I'm not a Jimmie Johnson fan, but that was a hell of
an effort to get back to 6th after everything that happened this weekend.

I also forgot to mention that Matt had to get through Kyle Busch, Jeff
Burton and Kevin Harvick before he even got to McMurray so to say he
only won the race because they got caught up in lapped traffic is plain
stupidity!

it's too bad that McMurray wasn't able to hold on...but Kenseth winning
wasn't bad...entertaining ending...i always like battles near the end of
races like that :)

this was an ok race, it got better in the end. McMurray led the most

Ricky Rudd's only race in 2006. He drove in relief of Tony Stewart, who
was injured by two seperate wrecks at Lowe's the previous week.

Rudd's #20 had a different look than normal, it had a one-off paint job
to promote Powerade, Coca-Cola's Gatorade-type drink.

Jamie Mac wasn't really that fast all day, but with just over 100 to go
his crew cheif made a pit call to either stay out or only get 2
tires...or something like that, forget what exactly it was, but in the
end it almost won them the race. And certianlly it was what got them the
2nd place finish so in the end it was a great call

I wonder what would have happened had McMurray won this race. Would he
have regained his confidence and had a much better career at Roush?
Would he have found the winner's circle more often? Because all we know
is that his 2006 season crumbled (aside from Watkins Glen) after this
race, the worst season of his career.

One of Jamie McMurray's RARE great runs while running for Roush. It's
pretty odd how he led almost 100 laps in this race, actually contending
for the win, while for the rest of his Roush career he struggled heavily
on non restrictor plate tracks.

Always wonder if McMurray's Roush tenure goes differently if he doesn't
gag this one away. But watching the final laps, he truly just failed as
a driver in letting Kenseth run him down and catch him. A 'what if'

Chad Knaus made the decision before the race to have the #48 crew pit
both Jimmie Johnson and Scott Wimmer's cars. They shared a pit box and
everything.

Qualifying for this race used to be on YouTube. Donnie Neuenberger never
attempted a lap., Chaffin backed it into the wall on his lap, resulting
in a pause in action. That pause led to a rainstorm that put qualifying
on hold.
