Clint Bowyer was crowing Stewart in the wall and Stewart wrecked him, and collected Edwards. Later in the race Edwards spun Stewart on pit road. 3. I don't why Edwards had to be such a baby and spin Stewart out. He was just an innocent victim of that whole ordeal and he didn't have to take it out on anyone. Still, nice to see NASCAR may finally be cracking down on rough driving. Aggressive is fine, but trying to purposefully take someone out is just wrong. 4. I can't disagree with Tony Stewart when he said that some of the young drivers have yet to learn to give and take. Blocking someone who is faster than you 30 laps into a 200 lap race isn't smart racing. Mark Martin has preached this for years and years, but some of these guys still don't do it. In Saturday's ARCA 200 won by Frank Kimmel, 70-year-old James Harvey Hylton finished 24th (3 laps down) in his final Pocono start. 5. Steve posted: 07.25.2006 - 6:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Turns out that Tony and Clint talked after the race. Clint was moving up the track to give Tony the inside line to let him by, but Tony was already committed to the outside, so it appeared to be a block, but it was an attempt to move out of the way. It was likely caused by Clint's inexperience, because when letting someone by you should hold your line if you don't know which line the faster car will take. However a talented driver like him should learn this quickly. Driver Milestones: Jeff Burton's 14th consecutive finish of 15th or better Dale Jarrett's 537th consecutive start Stephen Leicht's debut (finished 33rd) 7. Denny is the first rookie to sweep Pocono. He will be the first Rookie to make the Chase and He will be the first rookie to WIN a championship. 10. Yeah he apologized, that was basically a pr move. I don't know if he is short in the brain department, but he had to expect a penalty when he gave Clint the middle finger and then slammed him into Edwards. This guy doesnt think very much and is a hazard to 95% of the drivers out there, minus his teammate, but you never know he could lose his cool and take out Hamlin or Yeley any time... 12. Steve posted: 07.29.2006 - 1:24 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) I have reviewed that replay several times, and I don't see a middle finger that everybody has been talking about. I see a hand in the air as if Tony was asking Clint, "What was that about?". Of course, Tony didn't know Clint was giving him the bottom, and Clint didn't know Tony was committed to the high side. Just a misunderstanding. I don't think Denny will win the championship this year, but I think he will be in the CHA$E, and he will win many more races. 13. Keitaro posted: 07.29.2006 - 1:44 am Rate this comment: (0) (2) um...mk17ce99...Stewart did not give Bowyer the finger. He waved at him in anger. Check the replay. --- NASCAR is Rick Hendrick's bitch. If that was Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon there is no way they would have been penalized. I don't see how Jeff Gordon could intentionally wreck Kenseth and get away with it. Rick Hendrick is using NASCAR as his puppet. 14. mk17ce99 posted: 07.30.2006 - 1:07 am Rate this comment: (0) (2) ^Agreed But it was also such a fast gesutre that I guess nobody really knows if it was a middle finger or not. But usually when Tony is mad that middle finger comes out often.. 15. xac33 posted: 07.30.2006 - 3:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Any driver in the field could have won the race with the car Hamlin had, lets quit acting like he's some top notch driver for dominating both races. 16. When any other driver causes a multiple car wreck the driver apologizes to ALL drivers not just the ones that he was the first to wreck into. 17. Thomas posted: 08.02.2006 - 4:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) xac33, I think you're right. Hamlin's finishes outside of the two Pocono wins, a 2nd at Richmond, a 4th at Texas, and a 6th at Loudon have been less than stellar. 4 finishes of 30th or worse and a myriad of mediocre 12th-25th place finishes don't make me believe all the hype that this kid has been getting. Plus, only 2 wins in 58 Busch starts. I'm not trying to diminish his accomplishments, just simply making an observation that he might be overrated. 18. Previous commitment caused me to miss seeing the race this time. The two races I missed seeing the entire season and they are the ones Denny wins! *SIGHS* Oh well. Maybe the only way Denny can win races is if I don't watch them on TV. I must jinx him when I do LOL! I know my opinion of Denny might be prejudiced but I don't think he is overrated. I also don't think Joe Gibbs would be spending the time and money on Denny if he didn't think Denny had the talent in him to become a top driver in NASCAR. Denny has a lot of wins in him still to come and a championship (maybe 2?)in his future. Oh he might not reach the level of a Gorden or a Jimmy Johnson or ever his teammate Tony Stewart but I think he has a great future ahead of him in NASCAR. 23. dUDE gUY posted: 08.14.2008 - 1:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Denny is a pretty good driver. I was genuinely surprised to see him win both Pocono races, but he did a good job in that car. Yes, Denny had the best car, but he did a good job of keeping it clean (except for the incident with the blown tire in the spring race, though that wasn't his doing). 24. David posted: 09.13.2009 - 5:21 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) "I don't why Edwards had to be such a baby and spin Stewart out." What about Tony? Clint was just racing him for position and all Tony did was brush the wall. He had NO right to turn into Bowyer and wreck him. Not only was it totally ridiculous, but Carl got caught up in that mess. If you ask me, Carl had EVERY right to be angry. That's exactly why Carl is my favorite driver. He doesn't take any crap from all these punks who think they own the racetrack. Hell, I laughed when he gave Kyle Busch what he deserved at Bristol in the fall of 2008. 25. austin posted: 11.23.2010 - 6:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jimmy Spencer's last NASCAR race as of 11/23/10. 26. austin posted: 11.23.2010 - 6:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Junior's second consecutive 43rd place finish. 27. This race's question was "Who will be the next Under-25 driver to win a Cup race?" A-- Reed Sorenson (40%) [Never Won] B-- Brian Vickers (60%) [Talladega 3 months later] 35. That means no superspeedway win, no fuel mileage win and no win thanks to the rain or snow. 36. Danish_Pie posted: 05.05.2019 - 9:50 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Last Cup attempt for Greg Sacks. The following week at Indianapolis, Elliott finished last and then Watkins Glen would be Elliott's swansong competing for Robert Yates Racing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
