He'll win before the year is out. Jeremy Mayfield falls out of the top-35. Mikey DNQs for the first time since 1998. 4. JPM2007ROTY42 posted: 08.07.2006 - 7:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) M. Waltrp's 2nd DNQ of the year. Still in the race as an owner-Burger King Chevy. Wrecks on last lap involve 3 drivers chasing the Chase-9,11,16. Boring race, follow the leader all day long. Gordon battles early troubles to come home with a Top 20. 1 year till ESPN/NASCAR Racing. 5. mk17ce99 posted: 08.07.2006 - 10:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I really wanted Kenseth to win this race yesterday. But I guess its probably better to wait until ABC/ESPN has coverage because at least you will be able to see the post race stuff unlike NBC cutting out! 6. He wasn't even racing Biffle for position when he took him out. 9. Steve posted: 08.09.2006 - 8:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Robby isn't going to wreck his own equipment intentionally. He has to pay for that. And our thoughts should be with Cristiano da Matta. Last week he was driving in an open test session for an upcoming Champ Car race at Road America in Wisconsin, when he struck a deer (the track has an 8-foot high fence to prevent this sort of thing; I guess it needs to be higher), and it knocked him out. He is now in a medically induced coma for his safety. 11. The real number was even more impressive than that - 79 passes, the most of any driver in the field by a solid margin! That set an IMS mark that was only passed by Casey Mears in 2009 (a race that featured many rounds of green flag pit stops with only 3 yellows and thus many green flag passes) until drastic COT-era package changes in 2011 allowed most of the field to obliterate Stewart & Mears' marks. 36. From 2007 until 2014, ESPN would air the event with Burns and Bestwick being the two holdovers from the NBC era. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
