First career start for Marc Goossens. 4. JPM2007ROTY42 posted: 08.14.2006 - 4:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wasn't Boris Said in the 60? Plus the Biffle and Busch chase hopes diminish even more as wrecks doom both of them. 5. Congrats to Kevin Harvick! 6. Kevin posted: 08.14.2006 - 4:54 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I also heard that this was Sadlers last race for Yates. Happy to see it was a good run! 7. Ray going to fire him next??? 8. Darrell posted: 08.14.2006 - 6:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Wasn't Boris Said in the 60?" Yes and no. It was a partnership with the #34 and #61/#92 teams (Front Row Motorsports) because Mark Simo, co-owner of Said's team, is Brian Simo's brother. It was basically a one-time only partnership, and that is how FRM gets the No Fear decals sometimes. And Kevin, as long as Kahne stays single and girls fawn over him, we won't be seeing him going too far from the #9. 9. Steve posted: 08.15.2006 - 5:23 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yes, Boris Said raced a car carrying the points of the #61 Ford (owned by Jeff Stec), but used the #60 like he had at Infineon, Daytona, and Indy. Kevin Harvick wins in his 200th Nextel Cup start. Jeff Burton finished 5th at Fontana and 7th at Las Vegas; other than that, he finished no better than 25th in the first 6 races. Since then, he has not finished worse than 15th. 10. Thomas posted: 08.17.2006 - 5:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great race! Except the Harvick winning part. The whole Front Row Motorsports team is the most confusing team in racing. I like them, and I think it's neat that a team with little funding can be in NASCAR, but they are hard to follow. They run the #34, #61, and #92, and they have run all 3 manufacturers with these teams as well as seemingly switching the manufacturers sporadically between the cars. They also seem to swap drivers between the 3 teams at different times. As if that weren't odd enough, they have the #60/#61 thing at Watkins Glen. I love Boris and the team, but keep some continuity guys! 13. Darrell posted: 08.19.2006 - 4:18 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The FRM deal is a little spooky at first, but once you get it down, it's easy to understand, Basically the 92 began running in 2004 as a partnership between Bob Jenkins (No, not from ESPN. I believe he owns a couple of Taco Bell franchises and the Oak Glove company you see on the car sometimes) and Jimmy Means. Jenkins became the sole of owner of the team in 2005, but I think Means is still involved as far as helping the team getting set up and so on. At the end of the year, they bought the old #34 Mach 1 Racing team (used to be driven by Larry Gunselman) and that became part of their opeartion. They bought the #61 PEAK team at Phoenix this season, hence that's why the switch between the Fords and the Chevys. (Don't know why they use Dodges sometimes). I have no clue why they brought out the 92 for this race, as it was supposed to have closed after the PEAK buyout, unless it was because they had some sort of contract with Johnny Miller. At any rate, I hope this explains it all. 14. Apparently, there was a scheduling conflict with The Cleveland Indians and the network that the race was on. The Indians game aired from start to finish then after the game ended, they went to the race, which had about 10 or 15 laps remaining. 36.
