This time he got far enough away from Jeff Gordon so that Gordon couldn't spin him out. 4. He finished 38th after cutting a tire and smacking the wall. 5. kevin posted: 08.21.2006 - 4:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) A hugh blow for Jeff Burton. I was crushed to see him fall out so early. Going from a solid fourth in points to 9th! Jeff will be back! 6. Even Dallenbach and Weber found it perplexing. Best part of the race was a tie between Matt winning and Hapless Harvick spinning out and damaging his valance. 7. Brian Vickers finished 15th in his 100th Nextel Cup start, and owner/driver Robby Gordon finishes in the Top 15 again, for the 9th time in 2006. I found it interesting that Billy Webber can't get drivers' names right. Two weeks ago at Indy he said that "Ryan Neeman was running 3rd", and this weekend he confused Jeff Burton for Jeff Gordon. It worked when Mike Joy was promoted from pit reporter to main broadcaster, but in this case lightning didn't strike twice. 9. (Sunday) He shot up to the 4th up until the last caution and pit stops. I thought he would get to the front and win it. Sunday also proved you have to take the title from Tony Stewart. He will not be giving it away. 10. Rusty posted: 08.23.2006 - 1:53 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) ok, how did it prove you need to take it from Stewart? Because he finished 3rd? It's not like hes running away with it like last year hes gonna have to be on offense..... 11. mk17ce99 posted: 08.23.2006 - 4:27 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I guess Edwards hit the wall, or like he said hit something and his car went to hell real fast... 12. XAC33 posted: 08.24.2006 - 2:28 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) NEWSFLASH: Michigan hosts two exciting NASCAR events in one weekend.... now for the bad news, the law of averages will see to it that California, believe it or not, will be even more boring than usual. NBC and XM media once again displayed Junior bias and Gordon slandering this weekend. Twice on the TV broadcast the story was told of how "Kenseth's car was destroyed after being spun out by Gordon at Chicago". Amazing that Kenseth must have spun out for 20 minutes, the span of time between when Gordon turned him and his car was damaged. Also tons of fan clips were played on XM supporting Jr after he WRECKED, not hit, but WRECKED Carl Edwards. The same fans also got to voice their opinion of Gordon as the devil himself after tapping Kenseth. Mark Martin for most popular driver this year, one class act. 13. mk17ce99 posted: 08.24.2006 - 11:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Right. NBC did slander Gordon in a way. But if Gordon never spun him out in the first place, he would have been racing that moron Stremme for 22nd. 14. Dalejrfan15 posted: 08.26.2006 - 4:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Tough break for Junior. He definitley had the car to beat all race. 15. Steve posted: 08.27.2006 - 4:36 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I forgot to mention the ARCA race on Friday. Leader Burney Lamar broke something in the right-front suspension with 2 or 3 laps to go, leaving Frank Kimmel and T.J. Bell to battle for the win. Kimmel drove into Turn 3 too deep trying to take the lead, and his car pushed up into Bell's car. They hooked, and when Kimmel corrected, his car spun to the infield. While this is happening, Brent Sherman took the lead, and he thought he had the race won as he took the checkers. But the caution was out! It wasn't over! But Brent held off the rest of the field on the one-lap shootout. I think we all know about the finish of the Busch race. 16. biffle16 posted: 01.17.2007 - 11:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well, all's well that ends well. This race's question was "How many free passes should a Driver be allowed to receive in a race?" A-- 0 (11%) B-- 1 (20%) C-- 2 (19%) D-- Unlimited (50%) 31.
