Another good run for Jr and of course Burton. Can't forget about Tony Raines and Nemechek. I like this top 10. I havn't followed NASCAR much this year, so someone answer me this. What happened to Ryan Newman??? 2. common fan posted: 10.16.2006 - 1:39 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Good runs for Bobby Labonte,Tony Raines, Joe Nemechek, and Sterling Marlin. David Stremme was highest finishing rookie for the first time this season. Congrats Kasey Kahne for another win. 3. nascarman posted: 10.16.2006 - 7:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) The debris caution flag when Gordon and the other guys were on the tail end of the lead lap was a fake. While I was listening to the radio on my scanner they said it was for debris on the front stretch. I was sitting on the front stretch and no one set foot on the track to get a peace of debris. I'm not sayin' that this was for Gordon but NASCAR didn't used to be this way. 4. In 13 of the last 14 seasons, a driver has won 6 or more races (Matt Kenseth won "only" 5 races in 2002). Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson finish 1-2 in both Charlotte races in 2006. Critical finishes during a lousy season for Bobby Labonte (5th), Tony Raines (7th [season best], and he led more laps than he had in his previous Cup races combined), Joe Nemechek (9th; first Top 10 since this race in 2005), Sterling Marlin (11th; the #14 is 35th in owner points), David Stremme (15th, top rookie), Todd Bodine (19th), Travis Kvapil (20th), and Kyle Petty (22nd). To add to your question, JJ (out of curiosity, are you a fan of Jyrki Jarvilehto, or are you really him? If so, I think you're a superb sports car racer!), what happened to Penske Racing? Kurt Busch has had a handful of subpar runs in the past couple of months, at California, Richmond, Loudon, Kansas, and Charlotte. 5. With That i will not create any more controversies on Vickers even though im still P.Oed 6. JJ Lehto posted: 10.17.2006 - 6:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ha, I am a fan. Steve posted: 10.23.2006 - 4:51 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yeah, that was the other major story from this race; Awesome Bill failing to qualify. It think it's the first time ever in his Cup career that Elliott has attempted and failed to qualify. I agree with you, Dalejrfan15, I also like seeing less than half the field finishing within 10 laps of the leader. In the races from the 80s only 10 to 12 cars would finish less than 10 laps down in a 500-miler; maybe even less (like 7 or 8 cars) in the Southern 500. An example of the contrast from this year: at Chicago Ken Schrader finished 42nd, only 4 laps down. Texas Terry was the only car that didn't finish. 10. Every 30 laps, someone would blow a tire, hit the wall, and cause a caution. NASCAR even threw a caution because an accident MIGHT happen! 11. This is the year that Kasey Kahne took Lowe's Motor Speedway from Jimmie. I've been to a Charlotte race five different times and this night is the fastest that I ever got to I-85. I couldn't believe it. 27. SweetRich posted: 06.29.2020 - 9:51 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The commentators were Bill Weber, Benny Parsons and Wally Dallenbach.
