This race was scripted in the worst way. This truly felt like the most stereotypical race ever: 43 cars turning left for 500 miles and no excitement to be honest(JUDGE ME!).Another scripted event:Martin maintains points lead, if he fakes everyone out and races next week that will totally prove my case(JUDGE ME!).Also the last caution was scripted for the following reason (PLEASE JUDGE ME ON THIS)the top 3 cars were gonna run outta fuel if the race stayed green, and the 4th place driver was Montoya.(You know where this is going so I wont go any further...JUDGE ME!)And it was also thrown to get Gordon on the lead lap!(JUDGE ME!)And Tony Stewart screwed outta a fence climb by a Hendrick guy (JUDGE ME!)And now last but not least (JUDGE ME!)JUNIORS 14TH PLACE FINISH!He was in the TOP 5 ALL DAY LONG pretty much!AND THE CAUTION HAD TO BE THROWN (Which was fake...they didnt even show where the debris was.)Which put Junior from 6th to 11th!He then fell to 14th!WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!I THINK HE WAS IN A BETTER POSITION AT THIS POINT IN 05!If this is a preview of whats to happen to him this year, I AINT WATCHING IT!HE GAINED NOTHING THIS RACE!HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!AGH! Now that Im done rambling you can judge me in the worst ways and I can hope for the best at Bristol which I cant wait for.(Try and judge me on that) 3. People hate a team so much that they have to think every time they win that they are NASCAR's favorite. LMAO! Johnson led the most laps and had the faster car at the end. OMG THE RACE WAS OBVIOUSLY RIGGED *rolls eyes* Do you want me to list all the times that NASCAR has thrown one of their "debris" cautions to help your Precious Jr.? I don't have enough room, so don't whine the first time they do it for a driver you hate (for reasons yet to be discovered.) And are you trying to say that NASCAR threw a debris caution so JPM wouldn't win? LOLOLOL!!!! Man, you should have quit while you were ahead. I'm not sure how (or why) NASCAR would screw up Jr intentionally. There was an article on NASCAR.com of Jr explaining what happened BUT NO THATS NOT IT NASCAR HAD TO DO IT *rolls eyes again* By no excitement I KNOW that you mean no big wrecks and that is DISGUSTING. People like you and Thomas who think wrecks make racing exciting don't deserve to watch it. People like you need to GROW UP and stop whining and moaning every time a certain team goes to victory lane (and I'm not just talking about the Hendrick haters, I'm talking about Roush-Fenway haters and Tony Stewart haters, too. All haters are annoying). It's getting very old. 4. nascarman posted: 03.19.2007 - 7:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) T.V. is making it hard to believe that a race is not scripted. If there really is a debris caution they should show the debris. 5. DaleJrFan15 posted: 03.19.2007 - 8:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well it didnt take long for judging. I really dont care what you have to say about my opinion and its not about the wrecking, it was just not alot of side-by side stuff and a classic finish I was looking forward to.And thank you nascarman for supporting me.Even the people on the Yahoo fantasy auto racing team think that the caution came at a suspicious time. And its just that its getting boring to watch the same driver win. It would be nice to have a season wher there is no multiple winners you know? 6. nascarcrazy24 posted: 03.19.2007 - 8:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) I tune in to watch real racing, not some manufactured crap at the end due to the ALMIGHTY DEBRIS CAUTION. If NASCAR doesn't quit this stuff fast, they're gonna lose yet another fan, and this fan had been saying he'd never quit watching NASCAR for many years, it'd be a damn shame for them to lose him. Oh, and it is pretty clear that the only reason NASCAR throws debris cautions is to bunch up the field. They can't "script" a race, even if they tried, and they certainly aren't doing it to help certain drivers. 7. Darrell posted: 03.19.2007 - 10:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'd hate to stop following NASCAR, but I'm not happy at all with these debris cautions. Brian France had better hurry up and resign if he wants this fan to stay on board. At least Johnson won. That was a positive. 8. Rusty posted: 03.20.2007 - 1:12 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Greg Biffle has wrecked David Reutimann twice in 4 races this season already and since Reutimann has only ran 3 that's 2/3. 9. DaleJrFan15 posted: 03.20.2007 - 3:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Now that my head is clear and I have a little support, I can show the notables some respect: I cant believe nobody has said that this is Toyota's first laps led congrats! This race did show me one thing, JPM can drive. He can win possibly. And im surprised that only one person criticised (Pardon my spelling) my opinion. I like it that way. 12. DaleJrFan15 posted: 03.20.2007 - 3:18 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh and for the record, i dont know if the fan you guys are refering to is me, I aint going nowhere. 13. Thomas posted: 03.20.2007 - 5:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) You're damn right about this race, DaleJrFan15. And to Dan, once again someone else has proven that for whatever reason my comments seem to have some intangible impact on their daily life on this board. If you can't get through an entire criticism of someone else's opinion (in this case, DaleJrFan15) without mentioning me in the process, that's pretty weird. And by the way, wrecks are a part of making racing exciting, but they are definitely not the only part. The other part is good, clean, competitive racing that is not interfered with by senseless cautions. In this race, we saw the senseless cautions, but not the good racing, unless you consider the contrived "shootout" between Johnson and Stewart for about 2 laps near the end. While the caution was suspicious, it wasn't really angering, since Johnson had already dominated. It would have been different if he had run 20th all day, which he has done many times in the past and still won. Hopefully, Bristol will be better, but for some reason, I doubt it due to the COT piece of crap. I hope I'm proven wrong, though. 14. Steve posted: 03.21.2007 - 6:35 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The race wasn't "fixed"; just predictable. Jimmie was in the Top 5 most of the day (or at least the Top 10), but I'm really disgusted by the "phantom cautions", as Dave Despain calls them. Robin Miller said of JPM, "He'll be out of NASCAR by August 'cuz he won't be able to handle the schedule." I think that's what will happen to A.J. Allmendinger. In 6 attempts, he has yet to qualify for a race. Maybe that's why (his former Champ Car boss) Gerry Forsythe is only fielding one car this year (the #3 for Paul Tracy), so he could enter a second car for A.J. later this year. A.J. Allmendinger: cannot reach the Top 35 before Martinsville Jimmie Johnson: 25th win Jeremy Mayfield: cannot reach the Top 35 before Martinsville Juan Pablo Montoya: first Top 5 in a stock car (5th); he will win soon Michael Waltrip: cannot reach the Top 35 before Martinsville 15. Thomas posted: 03.21.2007 - 4:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) You're right, Steve. This particular race wasn't "fixed", since Johnson had already led a majority of it. It was simply predictable, just like you said. 16. Thomas posted: 03.21.2007 - 4:38 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Somebody should start a pool to bet on when Allmendinger finally cracks for good. 17. By the way, I think the COT will bring back side-by-side racing at most tracks. 18. Steve M posted: 03.21.2007 - 8:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I say Sears Point, if he still has a job by then that is lol. Ya race wasnt that great, the battle between Stewart and Johnson was okay with about 6-7 to go but there have been several far better races at this joint. Also no one has mentioned Mark Martins last of his 621 conseuctive starts before his frist mini break this year. Nice to see Bowyer get a 6th he is really comming along, Truex 8th and Sorenson 9th. 19. Thomas posted: 03.23.2007 - 7:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I didn't mention Mark's streak ending because I'm having a hard time dealing with the thought of him not being in the race Sunday. It's especially hard since he's in the points lead and Rainbow Boy is right behind him. 20. Matt posted: 03.24.2007 - 8:31 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) I agree wholeheartedly with Dan. This was a pretty solid race IMO. I do agree that NASCAR is WAY too quick to throw the yellow flag for small pieces of debris. As far as NASCAR throwing cautions to help or hurt certain drivers ? It's as simple as this: sometimes a caution HELPS some drivers, sometimes it HURTS some drivers, it just depends on the situation. NASCAR could do without a lot of the debris cautions, but it is foolish to suggest that they have an agenda behind their usage of the yellow flag. I happen to have been a Kasey Kahne fan since his 2nd career Cup race and he is struggling to stay in the top 35. I would be a complete idiot to suggest that NASCAR is responsible for this or any other misfortune that he faces on the track. 21. Reutimann turned Biff into the wall. 23. Anonymous posted: 07.15.2007 - 1:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Reutimann made contact with Biffle who in turn sent Brian Vickers backwards into the wall. I'm not sure whether Biff would have hit the wall if Vickers wasn't there (probably would have, anyway). Reutimann would have missed the wreck had he not got turned by Kasey Kahne. 24. Bill Davis had Toyota engines already from CTS, Michael Waltrip's Team and Team Red were starting from scratch. * Juan Montoya's first top 5, he'd win at Sonoma in a COT 13 weeks later. * Johnson gets win number one in his 2nd consecutive championship year. * A lot of debris cautions, or whatever. * 2007 was possibly the worst year because of using race time to try and experiment with the Car of Tommorow. Some idiot probably raise their hand during commitee meetings and said "duh, why not phase the COT in during the season?" EPIC FAIL. The should have done it in some exhibition events in winter testing or something. But it was learned the hard way. 25.
