If that had been anyone besides Johnson, Gordo would have put him so far into the wall, he would have been in Roanoke. Even so, it's not like he didn't try to wreck Johnson. This race proved that Rainbow Boy would run over his mother to win. 5. Rusty posted: 04.02.2007 - 4:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Solid top 10 for Scott Riggs, that should put him in the top 10. Also Robbie Reiser deserves a pat on the back he took a 30th place car and put Matt Kenseth in a position to get a top 10. Solid 13th for Ricky Rudd as well who is in top 35 danger. 6. Jamie McMurray gets his third great finish in the last few races, Kevin Harvick's foam catches on fire, Stewart and Hamlin both lose the race on pit road, Montoya uses the Chrome Horn and a Hendrick dogfight to top it all off! 8. Actually a boring race, except for the finish. Jeff Gordon acts like everything should be handed to him on a silver platter. If he'd run over a nice guy like Matt Kenseth, he'd spin his mother out, too. I don't hate Jimmie Johnson, but I just wish he wouldn't win so much! But what a job that whole Lowe's team did to take that car from 43rd on the speed charts in Happy Hour to the win on Sunday! A.J. Who would have thought that there would be 2 photo finishes at the short tracks in the COT! Coincidence?Maybe, maybe not. Is there anything JPM cant race in? He is just on fire!I really think he will win on an oval this season. Dear Dale Jr, 11. I agree with the people who say there are too many commercials, but we should cheer up. It may be our only chance to see Michael Waltrip on race day. :D 14. A race with 42 cars finishing and the last place car finishing is bad. Car of tomorrow sucks big time. It is Brian France's brainchild, and he is a total retarded idiot. Congrats, Nascar, I see you're losing fans every week and having trouble selling out. You axed Rockingham, put Darlington on its last leg, what next? Drop Bristol from the schedule so you can build a track out west? No thank you. Indycar is seriously beginning to look better than Nascar. Nascar needs to have more seasons like 1993 or 1994 or 1995, because those were great years and the last few suck real bad. I am predicting a race this year wherein all 43 cars finish on the lead lap. 17. biffle16 posted: 06.16.2007 - 1:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Damn right, kenneywallace. 18. Evan posted: 08.26.2011 - 10:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) boring til the end, I have the second half of this event on tape, I skip abot half of the COT events because they were so boring. Jeff should have put Jimmie in the fence for the win but good run anyway for the team, if it was Rusty(Wallace) or any other driver, Jeff would have laid the bumper to him. This race did show the flaws of the COT though, with the foam coming on fire in Kevin Harvick's car and the awful decision to run the COT in selected events instead of using a long winter testing session, which would have proved vital. The COT liquidated a lot of teams because they had to build seperate cars in 2007 which was not handled correctly. Putting a spoiler back on and getting rid of that wretched rear wing and losing the front splitter. Did not help diecast either as all the teams had to purchased again. 19. Looking back on it Gordon proved that he is a class act and didn't wanna wreck his teammate to win. Every time I watch the finish I still think Gordon is gonna get him. I'm still glad I was at Martinsville, live to watch two NASCAR legends go at it. This race and the 2007 season in my opinion is the true changing of the guard from Gordon being #1 to Johnson be #1 despite Johnson being overall better the previous seasons or so. 20. If this was the "Gen 4" car, I think we would've seen a different result. Gordon had the faster car, but Johnson was good tooâ?¦..you have to give credit to Johnson for keeping his cool and not making mistakes with Jeff Gordon all over him for 20 laps or whatever it was. That's just classic Jimmie Johnson with a win on the line. Gordon looked like he was trying to be pretty cleanâ?¦..I think he would've been more aggressive if it was somebody else. Johnson was very pumped up about beating his old master hereâ?¦..Gordon very pissed. Lot of emotion in this one. Another tidbitâ?¦..I think this was the race where the 48 was struggling with their setup all weekend (Johnson qualified 20th) but they used the 24's setup and their car really came alive. That puts even more salt on this wound for the 24. 24. 88&4Fan posted: 09.10.2015 - 10:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Denny Hamlin's 10th top five and 25th top ten finish. 25. Main takeaway is that I sure hope NASCAR on FOX NEVER brings back NASCAR 3D. OMG that is the most stupid and annoying thing I've ever seen in a NASCAR broadcast. That performance by Robby Gordon looked very similar to another performance by a particular guy named Wallace. And no it's not Rusty... Those top 2 were nowhere at halfway. Dale Junior looked like he was just going to cruise to the win after Gordon and Stewart had their pit stop/tire gremlins. At three quarter distance, future winner Jimmie Johnson was in the mid teens and hadn't led a lap all race. Juan Pablo really showed off his hot temper there with Tony Raines. He's been known for that throughout his NASCAR career, but they didn't know that was who he would become at this point. The rain delay around 3/4 distance is really the game changer in this race. It allowed several drivers including Jimmie Johnson to get off pit strategy and stay out under the Raines spin and take the top positions, meanwhile, the former leaders (Junior, Gordon) went to the back for the restart and the lapped cars helped Gordon take the spot away from Junior and lead those on fresh tires up toward the new leader Johnson. By the way, impressive race by Gordon to come back from outside the top 10 twice in the final half of the race to come up just less than a car length away from winning! Really classic battle and lots of bump and run in the final 50 or so laps, recommend it. Only way it could have been better is if that #5 of Kyle Busch could've used the fresh tires he got on the second to last caution to get up to the front and battled it out with those two. Felt like I was watching some sort of intermediate between the 2013 and 2018 Martinsville finishes. 27. If this was now (or the last few years) Jeff probably would have given JJ a much harder shove and put him into the wall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
