This race felt scripted just like Atlanta, Gordon doesnt lose lap and wins because of it, junior runs well and gets caught a lap down, Hendrick continues to dominate,Khane continues to suck,Hamlin makes a comeback, few lead changes, few leaders, and really boring. they seem to all match the Atlantas sripted race (Judge me on that still). This season honestly feels scripted and if these scripted events dont stop, they are gonna screw Junior,Khane,Newman, among others.Hopefully Junya can bring my spirits up for Talledega nd not get screwed out of a win there.(Go ahead tell me what you think about my naggin, I dont care) 3. Kasey Kahne has yet another disappointing run this year. 4. daniel posted: 04.22.2007 - 5:12 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Gordon was faster than anyone. 5. Pretty pathetic. As for the racing, the real racing didn't start until after the lap 218 restart. Excellent duel between Gordon and Stewart at the end, and a classy way to celebrate victory by Gordon holding the 3 flag on his victory lap. 7. That's pretty amazing considering Johnny Sauter is behind the wheel of one of them. ;) Michael Waltrip fails to make his eighth straight race, I believe. Ragan spins out again taking the 40 of Stremme and 10 of Riggs with him. Stewart and Gordon battled very hard with about 15 to go. Stewart went through the kink 3 wide with Gordon for the lead and got it for a lap. Then Gordon barely touched him in turn three to regain the lead and eventually win, tying himself with Earnhardt with 76 wins. Mark Martin's worst finish thus far (12th) 8. Rusty posted: 04.22.2007 - 9:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) Kurt Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Martin Truex Jr., and Ryan Newman all had top 5/10 runs going and get trapped because of a boneheaded mistake by Carl Edwards.....I still feel NASCAR somewhat handed the win over to Jeff Gordon, before the race started he couldn't hear the radio so they let them replace it while the other cars went out for the pace laps and they let him keep his position for "safety" issues. So because he can't hear his crew chief it's a safety problem? Plus he should have been trapped with Busch, Newman, Earnhardt, and Truex on the tail end of the lead lap, but instead they give him the lead. Not to take anything away from Gordon, he worked hard to hold off Stewart but he never should have been in the lead. 9. OK, I will judge you on that still. I still think that you are an idiot. If the number in your name means that you are 15 years old then I am ashamed to be the same age as you. Just because a Hendrick driver wins doesn't mean a race is scripted. NASCAR couldn't even script a race if they tried. Instead of being a Jr fan, why not try to be a race fan and not call races scripted every time Jr has some bad luck. If you think NASCAR would intentionally screw Jr (the yellow during pit stops was for a crash, by the way. I don't think NASCAR would tell drivers to crash) then you are an idiot. 10. 3fan4eva posted: 04.22.2007 - 9:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) I was at this race and I wanted to vomit all over the place...Gordon was on pit road at the time when Yeley & Blaney wrecked....he was right in front of me and was on pit road when the caution came out...he got a free pass. Stewart got robbed royaly. And him carrying that three flag around was a good thought but not approiate. And yes very good runs for Green, Labonte & Sauter 11. Dan posted: 04.23.2007 - 3:29 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ah, I love to see the haters whine after a Hendrick driver wins. It always gives me a good laugh. Maybe if all you haters stop and think(may be a tall order for most) you'd remember that Jr and Truex had already gone back out on the track and had completed their stops when the yellow came out. Gordon was on pit road when the yellow came out. The cars SLOWED FOR THE CAUTION and Gordon never lost the lap. Just get over it and stop thinking that NASCAR loves Hendrick. It's extremely laughable. 12. The Real Thomas posted: 04.23.2007 - 4:06 am Rate this comment: (0) (3) "Hard to believe both Haas cars finish inside the top ten. Gordon gets lucky and then plays the wannabe Earnhardt card. That sucked. What was he thinking by having that big #3 flag? How sad is it when him and his team had it already prepared so they could rub it in everyone's face when win #76 came. It wasn't like when Rusty or Dale held the #7 or #28 flag as a tribute back in 1993-1994. Tonight it just seemed like they were gloating and being conceited about tying the win record more than as an honor. All hell will break loose if Rainbow Boy wins next week at Talladega and breaks the win record - ON DALE SENIOR'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! 13. Garrett48fan posted: 04.23.2007 - 4:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I thought the rules have always been (atleast in the past few years) that if your on pit road and the caution comes out then you can continue with your pit stop. But if a caution has ALREADY been waved and you come down pit road then you are penalized at the tail end of the longest line. The 24 was on pit road was easily already on pit road when the caution came out because of a wreck. This allowed the 24 team to take their pit stop and stay on the lead lap. He was able to gain the lead by staying out while others had to pit, its called racing luck. This rule for the pits has been used in numerous races (notably road coarses). Sorry Anti-Gordon fans this rule has been around for a long time. 14. AND I DON'T THINK THAT THE RACE IS SCRIPTED EVERYTIME JUNIOR GETS SCREWED! I just found it a bit ironic that he, Busch and Truex were put on the tail end while Gordo ended up being put in the lead. That stuff really pisses me off. Also if I have to deal with one more technical difficulty on FOX's part I'm gonna gouge my eyes out, seriously, it makes me miss NBC. And Dan, sorry but my name does refer to my age. And I don't see any shame in that >:( But for the record I'm not just an Earnhardt Jr fan! I am a Kahne, Edwards, Montoya, Stewart, Harvick, Truex, and Martin fan. I just like Jr the most which is why my name here is DaleJrFan15 (DaleJrFan16 in June) And honestly, you have to agree that the race was kinda crappy in the first place, not much excitement. 15. Pork Rind posted: 04.23.2007 - 4:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think that the announcers said Gordon was able to come out of the pits before Stewart crossed the start/finish line, so Gordon was at the end of the lead lap, and when everyone pitted a bit later, he took the lead because he already took his pit stop. Basically, I agree with what Garrett said. I didn't know that this upcoming Sunday was Dale Earnhardt's birthday, but I'm sure it will be mentioned numerous times during the race, especially given they are at Talladega, where Dale Earnhardt reigned supreme. If Gordon were to win there this weekend, I believe any Gordon fans in the stands would be in trouble. I could see the Jr. fans going nuts, and can you imagine if Gordon beat Earnhardt Jr. for the victory? I imagine about 50% of the fans at the race this Sunday will be Jr. fans. That being said, I've never seen any Jr. fans attack any Gordon fans at any race I've attended, but given it's Talladega, and it's Dale Earnhardt's birthday, anything can happen. Then again, this isn't European soccer fans, who make NASCAR fans look like polite opera attendants. Bye. 16. Pork Rind posted: 04.23.2007 - 4:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sorry for commenting again, but I wanted to say that Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn't seem upset over Gordon and the #3 flag. If Jr. was upset, he would have said so. No one forced Jr. to go over to Gordon in victory lane. And it doesn't matter how many races or championships Gordon, or anyone else win for that matter, Earnhardt was the best. I don't care if some guy comes along and wins 300 races and 10 championships, I still will put Dale Earnhardt #1. Bye. 17. Jacksonedb posted: 04.25.2007 - 11:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dale Jr. said that he was ashamed that his fans were treating Gordon like that. All Gordon was doing was paying tribute to Earnhardt, not gloating and saying he's better than him. Junior said that Gordon did it because he was proud to have done something equal to Earnhardt. 18.
