Daytona should be more interesting. 2. Dave Blaney won the pole in this, giving Toyota it's first pole. 3. And, fittingly, it was a crucial late-race pit stop that got him the necessary track position. 4. Is it just me or does Truex seem to be finding the form he had in the Busch Series. JR!!! had a great day coming home 5th. Good job for Jeff Green finishing 6th, and how did Edwards still finish 13th after that disastuorus pit stop 5. And if anyone thought I was wrong about Junior being better in the COT, just look at this race. Its the 2nd race where he led the most laps this year (Martinsville was the last one. Then the one after that was Tally in october which I'm still trying to forget.) Also this truly is the year of close finishes heres the order of closest finishes this year. NASCAR finally has stopped(for the most part, anyway) with the fake debris cautions(though the one on lap 254 was questionable.) A great finish between a veteran and a future star of the sport. If the race was 301 laps Gordon would have won. 7. Darrell posted: 07.04.2007 - 11:01 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) What is it with Jeremy Mayfield getting all this crappy equipment suddenly? The cars he's gotten from Bill Davis are a joke and nowhere near competitive if they even qualify. Toyota needs to pick up the slack on all of its teams. 8. Many congrats to Denny Hamlin for holding off Jerkface Gordon. It's about time he won one of the COT races after being screwed so many times this year. 9. A top-15 sweep for Haas, which was exceptional on their part. By the way, the 11's 1st win of the season. 12. His first win I didn't see because of a power failure in my neighborhood. His second career win I missed because of a prior commitment I had made. His third win I missed is an interesting one however. I couldn't watch the race because I and my roommate were at Daytona International Speedway doing the Richard Petty ride-a-long. Three laps around the track in the shot gun seat and professional drivers behind the wheel reaching speeds up to 160+ MPH. Wooooooo Wheeeeeeee that was fun. I did get to hear the race on the radio as we were driving home after our ride-a-long. So while I didn't see Denny win I did at least get to listen to it. 14. He was 28th fastest during qualifying, but during post race inspection, his car was found to be 1/8 of an inch too low and his qualifying time was disallowed. He was outside the top 35 in points and had no provisional to fall back on, so he simply did not make the race. 20. Denny Hamlin drove this car for the majority of the short tracks in the early COT era. Source: I took pictures of the car and received a handout that reads the car's history at the local Toyota Dealership. 31.
