Solid top 10 for Dave Blaney, the 21 Wood Brothers team moved up to 35th after Ginn Racing got rid of the #13 team, but Blaney and the #22 team moved into 35th after finishing 9th at Indianapolis. 4. Id like to thank it for taking the power out on lap 79,and forcing me to turn the radio on with 25 to go and as soon as I turned on the radio he blew his engine. Thank you rain...for making me miss a classic battle between harvick and stewart. Thank you rain. 5. So what's new? ;) Great run for Greg at a track that normally isn't kind to him. 6. Darrell posted: 07.30.2007 - 7:56 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) First race for Mark Martin under the DEI banner. Ken Schrader returns to BAM Racing for one race and does pretty decently. 7. Zac posted: 07.30.2007 - 11:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kevin to the trailer!? The world SURELY must be ending. What a great battle between two friends. I guess it was payback from last year's Watkins Glen race in which Tony lost the race with about 5 to go, or maybe the fact that Kevin Harvick has just used up his 'close finishes' luck. He won on the last lap at Richmond over Kyle Busch lat year, also won barely over Mark this year at Daytona, and Watkins as I mentioined. I think his luck had to turn at some point. ;) It was great to watch Kevin and Tony go after each other like that for the last 20 laps. Harvick tried to block and was somewhat successful for a little while until he opened the door off turn one and was body slammed by Stewart. Kevin came back with a crossover move off turn two, slammed Tony back down the backstretch, and then fell like a rock due to banged in fender. And the incident after the race was just Harvick being Harvick. He and Tony get along well and Kevin just wanted Tony to know that he was 'happy'. ;) Dale Jr. goes kablamo. Jimmie Johnson goes kablamo for the second straight place and has fallen all the way back to 8th in points in just two weeks. Good job Ganassi. Sorenson gets the pole and finishes 5th, while JPM runs in the top 5 or 6 all day without one incident. That was probably to be expected since he's won there in IRL and raced there in F1 many times. Oh, and Kasey Kahne... wow. Talk about nothing going your way. Look up 'futility' and his picture is right next to it. That Kyle Busch kid is still proving his worth, too. You didn't hear his name once all day and he ends up 4th. Rick made a horrible choice dumping him. 8. Brock posted: 07.31.2007 - 1:40 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ward Burton gets a solid 14th-place finish for Morgan-McClure, earning a solid $161,125 for his son's go-kart fund! Carl Edwards finishes 18th despite sustaining minor damage in the multi-car wreck on lap 47 AND racing with his right thumb injured at a dirt-track wreck earlier in the week. Jimmie Johnson's tire woes from Charlotte, Dover, Pocono, and Chicagoland continued with a frightening lap 72 hit into the fence after his already-damaged left-front fender cut down his tire at the fastest point on the track: the entrance to turn three. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. led his first laps at Indianapolis since 2002, easily-eclipsing his previous laps led record at the track of 13 with 33 more. Sadly, his engine failed on the frontstretch while he was running 5th with 25 laps to go. Also, due to a flaw from their Las Vegas test, Ray Evernham decided to have all three of his cars run the 2006 Dodge Charger nose for the remaining non-COT races this season. For Kahne and Sadler, however, early wrecks still caught them. 9. It was like Martinsville or something. ESPN is back, but like was previously posted, it just didn't feel the same. I didn't think it would. Pretty good coverage, though. Happy to see Hapless Harvick fail again and turn on his bestest friend in the whole wide world. It would've been funny if Montoya won. Congrats to Tony the Tiger and screw NASCAR for penalizing him and other drivers for cussing. On to Pocono. 15. James W. I was there watching it all on TV, I heard it clearly with my own ears. My response: that was cool, Smoke! It shows that we are human beings, not robots as those nascar higher-ups forcefully expect them to be. 17. No Formula One, no NA$CAR, no Moto GP, not even the Indy Pro Series. 21. At the time, Burger King had gone all out in promoting the movie (they released a series of action figures, and, I'm remembering right, they even had a website where you could make a Simpsons universe version of yourself). The iconic patriarch of the Simpson clan, Homer, appeared on the hood of the #00. Reutimann's performance ended up being more of a "D'oh!" than a "Woohoo!", however, as he lost the motor in the #00 shortly after the halfway point. 32.
