I was on the edge of my seat for most of the last 50 laps...great racing. Tough Luck for Kyle Busch (losing power steering) Stewart (spun) and Hamlin (Fuel pickup problems on final restart). Gibbs had a chance at the 1-2-3 finish. Great job to RCR and Jeff Burton. AWSOME job to ARIC ALMIROLA! Top 20 all race for him. Also great job by Gilliland. McMurray is out of the top 35. 2. Hamlin has a problem with his car failing to picking up gas and gave Burton the easy pass for the win. Harvick and Stewart got together after Harvick got a little loose and came up the track and hit Stewart. Fox felt the need to show about a million commericals during this race and DW had no voice calling this race! It was a good race other then that! 4. most posted: 03.16.2008 - 8:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wow, A roush car out of the top35! All this points swap mid-season talk just shows where the sport is! Oh, my team has enough money to buy a past champ so we will swap their points all season to keep our red head stepchild team afloat, meanwhile MRW races is and did it the fair way (this season at least)... I know the way to solve it, go back in time and take back the 77 2 swap and then don't swap the freaking points for anyone! What a joke that has become! I will not be shocked when Bobby Allison is in the #26 next week, Richard Petty in the #45 and David Pearson in the #40.... 5. Great runs for Almirola and Gilliland, and tough break for Schrader, running close to the top 10 when he wrecked. I watched the whole race until the last 60 laps then had to listen to the end. It sounded exciting on the radio, too bad I missed it on TV. 7. most posted: 03.16.2008 - 10:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Also, where does Paul Menard get off?!?!?! I can't wait until he falls out of the top 35 and we can rid ourselves of him for good! Tony was so right about him! 8. Sheet Metal posted: 03.16.2008 - 10:18 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Although cars can easily run side-by-side with the new configuration, I don't think the racing is any better. Since all the cars go pretty much the same speed, lapped traffic was a big issue today. A softer tire would probably help. Still a decent race, though. I really hope Nascar does not allow this owners points swapping business to continue any longer. We'll see what transpires this week, but teams should have to EARN a guaranteed spot, instead of stealing one from a teammate. 9. How could they even think about changing ANYTHING about the configuration that produced so much excitement, anticipation, and ACTION. Shame on them. Great run for Aric Almirola. You'll be hearing that name a lot more often in the future. They need to put him Regan Smith's ride. 10. WallaceFan posted: 03.16.2008 - 11:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I forgot this in my earlier comment. Good Luck in the booth Dale Jarrett. Not the best race..he had a tire go down and had to pit under green...costing him about 3 laps. Great man, he will be missed. 11. Woodbridge posted: 03.16.2008 - 11:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Nah, keep Almirola in the #8. The #01's out of the top 35 and will probably stay that way. Regan Smith is a hack. A rare Top Thirty finish for Smith today, and Petty too... Great win for Burton, and Harvick isn't a marginal talent, why else would he be so high in the points and have so many great finishes year in and year out? I don't get people's hate for him. Third Spring Bristol race in a row where Tony Stewart leads the most laps, but fails to chart a win. 12. Anonymous posted: 03.16.2008 - 11:40 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) "They ruined Bristol. It was better when they had 18 cautions a race and couldn't pass without running into each other. RIP Bristol 1969-2007 13. Woodbridge posted: 03.17.2008 - 12:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) OOOH! Decent driver but when I heard he was going to Cup I said WTF! Almirola is a better overall driver I think but he was also with a better team coming up and avoided the Bobby Ginn crap, Regan has made more with less but isn't ready for Cup. 16. They don't deserve to be in every race because Toyotas are killing the Fords &Chevys and all the toyotas (or at least the ones piloted by punks like Kyle Busch or Brian Vickers who are barely old enough to drink the Crown Royal that sponsors McMurray) deserve to struggle like Michael Waltrip did last year. 18. Darrell posted: 03.17.2008 - 3:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ford616172699, I hope that is satire. If not, that's one of the most ignorant comments I've ever read. Regarding Smith, he's no hack. He can drive. Look at what he did in Busch last year before the Ginn deal. He's just a rookie, and rookies are rarely perfect. We've been spoiled with the likes of Johnson, Newman, Kenseth, Stewart, etc. who've been championship contenders from Day 1. 10 years ago, his results would have been expected. With that said, great runs by Gilliland and Almirola. Hopefully the hate-brigades for those two will be silenced for awhile. Thanks Dale, for all you've done for the support. While I was never a fan of yours, you were a classy guy and a great ambassador for your sponsors. Too bad your puttering on the apron in the last few laps was too symbolic of your last few seasons. I think you can still wheel it in a good car. But I look forward to hearing you in the booth! Oh, and a pox on whatever exec thought it was a good idea to let DW call the race with laryngitis. It was painful for us viewers, and even worse for DW. For pete's sake, let the man have a day off! 19. 4320 posted: 03.17.2008 - 4:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Tough luck for Stewart. RaceFanX posted: 03.17.2008 - 5:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jeff Burton scores his first win ever in the COT by passing Denny Hamlin during the green-white-checker. First ever 1-2-3 finish for RCR and the first one since Roush finished 1-2-3-4 at Homestead in 2005. Darrell Watrip had even less voice than he did most of the day when Mountain Dew gave him one of his old Junior Johnson #11 Mountain Dew Buick Regals before the race. According to Darrell himself it was one of his real cars, not a replica. If not for a wreck in the last 20 laps that knocked out Brian Vickers this was almost the first 43-car field to have every car running at the finish on a short track Kind of funny, Jeremy Mayfield and Reed Sorenson both complete the scheduled distance yet end up 6 laps down. Never would have seen that when I started watching racing in 1995! Ken Schrader had a great run going, getting up to 11th, before getting collected in a multi-car accident caused by Dario Franchitti and Jamie McMurray The wreck also involved Paul Menard, Ryan Newman and Bobby Labonte 21. That is how I think about Toyota's domination and the Toyota assholes like Brian Vickers, Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch sitting McMurray or Kyle Petty or any other Ford/Chevy/Dodge driver should be. I hope Toyota does what they did in Indy cars, stay for a while and leave. 22. We have a Toyota plant right here in KENTUCKY, AKA PART OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!! They are more quality, hardworking people than GM and Ford have every had. They run a company with great principles, values and character and only hire the best employees who demonstrate those very qualities. It is a shame people hate this company just because it is not "American" A load of horse waste because GM and Ford have parts made overseas stealing jobs from our very own while Toyota has parts made right here in the USA. Grow up, get a life, and most of all get a clue... 24. The Toyota guys didn't "take" the Roush #26's top 35 spot. Matter of fact,no team owns a spot in points anyway; they earn it. McMurray's just had bad luck, sooner or later he'll work his way back into the 35 and it won't be because of your whining. 25. b4il3y posted: 03.18.2008 - 10:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wow. People are talking about a ruined Bristol racetrack. People actually being able to pass and run 2-wide like they used to in the 80's? Seems like I saw the same number of banged up cars as a normal Bristol race. I'm just guessing you all that are hating on Bristol now must be Hendrick fans :) BTW - Aric Almirola is the real deal. Gibbs racing screwed him and hard over the Busch race last year where the team put Denny Hamlin in the car mid-race, even though Almirola was leading. 26. He's a young gun, but he's a racer first. Remember when he skipped his prom to run a Busch race? Reutimann, Jarrett, and Blaney seem to be good guys as well. I'm as anti-Ford as you can get, but I still pull for some of their drives because they're genuinely good people who are not in it for the money (See: Kvapil, Gilliland, Rick Crawford, among others) 28. No wonder he has so many long winless streaks. 29. m posted: 03.26.2008 - 9:36 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) oh man rcr wins boo just kidding congrats to rcr for a 1-2-3 finish 30. I was a Kevin Harvick fan and was willing to let this slide until he did it again to Stewart a few races later at Sonoma. Clayton, the profits go to Japan sure, but how about all those American working class who have jobs in Kentucky??? That is money in the American's pocket. If you haven't noticed recently job are very hard to come by and Toyota has plants here for those American working class while GM, Crystler shipped their jobs over seas to save a buck and still are in bankruptcy. If the brass at GM would have brought those jobs back into state and paid decent wages maybe they wouldn't be in the mess they are in because those employees would have money to purchase a GM of their own. 34.
