He's had 4 rides in 4 years 3. Baker posted: 06.22.2008 - 10:46 pm Rate this comment: (1) (4) Kevin Harvick is still a no talent overrated punk. Tony Stewart isn't very good at picking his friends because his two "closest friends" in racing, Harvick and Junior, would dump him anytime anyplace for any reason. 16 races 8 times outside the Top 10 7 house crap reasons: 2 times wrecked by Kevin Harvick 2 times wrecked by Elliott Sadler 2 flat tires 1 BS speeding ticker If he'd ever catch a break Tony Stewart would be right there with Burton and Junior in the standings. Very impressive run for Kyle Busch though. I didn't expect him to challange for the win at all. I was expecting him and Tony to move into the Top 10/Top 5 with their bad starting spots, but both ended up having a chance to win it. That was great. Kyle is becoming more well rounded as a driver, more patient behind the wheel and more educated behind the wheel as well. He is going to be scary good the next 15 years. 4. Jimmie Johnson had the strongest car in this race, but the first pit stop shuffled him to the back and he could never recover. Congrats to Kyle Busch on a great win. 6. I never thought I'd see the day of seeing winners starting 30th or worse at this track in back to back years. There is no type of a track that Kyle can't win at the cup level. I expect him to win at least 10 races this year at his rate. Good run by Mears in one of his last races at Hendrick. It sounds like he will be replaced by Mark Martin next year. It could happen since Almirola will be racing full time in cup next year. 7. Further proof that the new car sucks, a whopping 5 lead changes with Kyle leading the last 42 laps. 8. That really hurts because this was a race he really needed to widen the gap between him and Kenseth, whose road racing results have been awful. And that is being kind. He did a great job by finishing 8th. Harvick is good at road racing and really needed a good finish on one of the few tracks he can finish in the top 5 at any time. This, to me, showcases the differences between Harvick and Kenseth. I think Harvick has more driving talent, but not nearly as much going on between the ears. He is a loudmouth showman, while Kenseth is a quiet, efficient worker. He keeps his cool much better, and will get much better results than Harvick, which is the ultimate goal. If it comes down to Harvick and Kenseth for 12th spot, and it won't because come Richmond Kenseth will be easily in the Top 12, I know who my money is on. It will most likely come down to Harvick and Stewart, and I don't think Tony will forget this and Bristol. 11. racepool posted: 06.23.2008 - 1:56 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Boring race. Harvick ruined great runs by Ron Fellows in the 01 car and Jamie McMurray. Tony Stewart was able to come back up to 10th. Then he proceeded to be a extremely rude to the pit reporter after the race. I guess that's why those two are back waxing buddies, because they are both jerks. Great run by Gilliland. Biffle spun out while leading, but came back for a pretty good finish. 12. haywood posted: 06.23.2008 - 2:26 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) i always find it funny coming here the day after a race because most ppl here hate the races i love. this race was no different. infineon & watkins glen have been the best races on the schedule for a while. while it wasn't the most exciting infineon race, it def didn't lack drama. i just wish that ambrose or montoya wouldn't have spun & ruined what could have been a good finish. 13. Great run for Casey Mears, hope he ends up somewhere good next year..he doesnt deserve to be thrown around from car to car. Great job to Gilliland, Montoya, Bowyer. Tony Stewart drove like a mad man the last few laps after he was wrecked, idn what to say about that. 14. Kyle Busch blew everyone away! Congratulations to Juan Pablo Montoya, Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart for their top 10 finishes along with the other drivers: Kyle Busch, David Gilliland, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, and Casey Mears! 15. The previous best was 11th at this same race in 1989 by Dick Johnson. He was also the first Australian to start a Cup race since Geoff Brabham started 18th in the 1994 Brickyard 400. 17. The Car of Tomorrow absolutely sucks. And NASCAR wonders why they're losing fans. 18. mk17ce99 posted: 06.27.2008 - 11:17 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) The only track where Matt Kenseth needed a top 10 finish at. It's really stupid, but Kyle Busch chose his strategy right and won his 5th race of 2008. It's his first Cup road course win. He won at Mexico City in the Nationwide series earlier in the year. 20. 1995z71 posted: 03.19.2012 - 1:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Michael McDowell finishes 21st, as of 3/19/12 his best cup finish. 21. RaceFanX posted: 01.05.2018 - 8:36 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @22 This would indeed turn out to be Scott Pruett's final NASCAR Cup race. Pruett, doing a one-off substituting in the Target #41 Dodge for its normal driver Reed Sorenson, was running 17th when the race restarted with five laps to go and he got wrecked out as the field stacked up right at the top of the hill. Pruett was hit from behind by Tony Stewart, fresh off getting spun by Kevin Harvick, as he charged back through the field and it sent him crashing into the back of Martin Truex, Jr. then spinning off the track. Pruett and Denny Hamlin both ended up spinning off at the top of the hill in separate incidents during the melee on the restart. Pruett drove the solid red #41 back to the pits but with the radiator busted and the car have suffered a minor oil fire on the way back because of the damage he was clearly done for the day. The caution that resulted from Pruett's crash turned this race into a two-lap trophy dash. Rowdy blasted out front from David Gilliland and Jeff Gordon on the restart. Gilliland tried to catch up to Busch at Turn 11 on the penultimate lap but went wide in the process and mounted no further serious challenge. The victory was the first for Busch on a road course and the first for Toyota on a road course in NASCAR Cup competition, adding on to the Japanese car maker's long history of success in road course competition. This was Kyle Busch's ninth Cup victory. Casey Mears' fifth-place run was his top-5 finish of the season and his only one in the Hendrick Motorsports' #5 Kellogg's / Carquest Chevrolet. Elliott Sadler restarted in fourth on the final restart and fell like a rock because of that flat right rear tire but somehow still brought home a top-20 run even with that serious issue. Right after he crossed the finish line he finally lost control of it, spinning out and backing the car into the outside wall at turn 1, his crew chiming in on the radio to tell him he still finished 19th even before the car came to a stop. 26.
