McMurray was a top 5 car untill Robby Getoutamyway Gordon wrecked him. An AWSOME finish between the roushkateers. Biffle, Kenseth, Edwards going 3wide through the turns, swapping the lead over the last 20 laps untill Biffle took the lead with about 5to go. An amazingly exciting race. GREAT RUNS for Roush in general, Mark the Kid Martin, Dave Blaney and MICHAEL WALTRIP?!!? 10th woo good job to him. An absolute thriller of a race. 2. Reut was in the top 10 most of the day but then sorta just fell of the radar, but another great rae for him. Marcos Ambrose ran great again, most of the first 300laps he was in the top 25. He got as high as 9th...and then i dont know what happened. He may have dropped a gear or something because he kept getting lapped. Anyways he ran really well and as long as the JTG Big Brad car holds up next year he should be a top 25 car regularly. 3. They are also the only team to finish 1-2-3-4 in a race back at Homestead in 2005. Three of those finishes also came in 2005. They are also the only winners so farthis year in the Chase. It's nice to see Three Ford's being chased by Six Chevrolet's. You gotta give it to these guys. 4. 4320 posted: 09.21.2008 - 9:36 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wow. One of the greatest racing battles I've seen at Dover in the final 40 laps. Biffle, Kenseth, and Edwards put on a great show at the end and came home 1-2-3 for Roush, the first time that has happened since Texas back in '05. Great race for Kenseth, I was pulling for him to win, but still it was what that team needed to turn their program around in the Chase. Once again, what a great race at the end. 5. Patrick posted: 09.21.2008 - 10:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This Entire year, the favorite to win the Sprint cup has been Kyle Busch, but I think, in the last 2 races, the momentum is very much shifting to Greg Biffle. Watrip finishes 10th, great Job there. And a great Job for the whole Rousch team, they had 4 good cars here. 7. 140 posted: 09.21.2008 - 11:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) How about that, Waltrip ends up being the highest finishing Toyota, Dodge's highest finisher is 13th. That was some of the best racing I've seen all season long for sure. I actually thought Kenseth was going to hold them off. I bet if McMurray hadn't been wrecked he would have had a top 5 for sure. 8. Anonymous posted: 09.22.2008 - 12:43 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This is one of the best racing in battles in the final part of the race. The 99 team gave the race away by not taking 4 tires on their last pit stop. Micheal Waltrip gets a rare top 10 for this season. David Reutimann would've got a top 10 if he didn't pit outside of his box. He was in the top 10 for most of the race. The 44 is a team to watch for rest of the year. Marcos Ambrose did great with the 21 team for most of the race. I didn't know what happened to him for the last 100 laps though. I think the chase will be down to Edwards and Johnson. We should know more after Talladega. We should know more about Biffle after Talladega and Martinsvile in terms of him having a legit chance of winning the chase. Biffle does great at cookie cutter tracks if he is given great equipment. Biffle doesn't have a good history at Martinsville. Talladega always is a guessing game for who gets in the big one. 9. I don't think I've had more fun watching a sporting event in my entire life. The whole crowd had did ooh's and ahh's when they made contact. What a fantastic race!! 10. Kenseth, Biffle, and Edwards all driving hard for the win. Matt was doing a heck of a job holding Greg off, but the way Greg was running I figured it was only a matter of time before he passed Matt for the win. This marks the first time in Biffles Cup career that he's scored consecutive wins! Awesome job man, keep it up! Gotta give a hand to Johnson, who has four consecutive top five finishes. He will be a threat to win the Chase. 12. Kit posted: 09.22.2008 - 11:29 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm really glad Kyle Busch is pretty much out of contention to win the championship. 13. DaleSrFanForever posted: 09.22.2008 - 1:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) What an awesome race and finish. That is why most of us fans are so down on NASCAR, because this sort of race doesn't happen often enough. Too many cookie cutters. Look at the great races we had at Richmond and this race at Dover. Old tracks with odd configurations, why aren't they building more like this?? This race was SO much fun to watch. Unfortunately four of the next six races are at 1.5 mile cookie cutters, with fun races at Talladega and Martinsville thrown in. Sigh. Robby Gordon did what he does best, made himself a factor in the outcome even though he was laps down and hopelessly out of contention. Jamie has to be sick and rightfully so, that was ridiculous. No wonder GEM sued to get out of their merger agreement. He provides nothing except headaches and turmoil to any organization he is with. I wouldn't get too excited about Mikey's top 10. Remember last year at Michigan when he finished tenth and crowed about how his organization was going to become a factor? It was a good run, but he took advantage of attrition (Busch, Hamlin, Jr, Reutimann's pit penalty). As long as two of the three drivers are Michael Waltrip and Michael McDow-wall they will never be a threat. And now Cal Wells comes out saying they will try to run 4 cars next year. Yeah right!! They will have only two, one of which only will have sponsorship for half the year. It is all talk. Kyle Busch finally reaps what he has sowed. 14. dUDE gUY posted: 09.22.2008 - 3:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle still has a chance... but not much of one. I doubt this year will become another 2006, where chasers were crashing left, right and centre in the last 10 races. Too many people are running too well for that to be a good possibility. Good run for Blaney. Man, did that team ever need a good run. 20 of the 27 races he has made this year he's finished 21st or worse, and nine of those finishes came in the last ten races. O. U. C. But yea, Robby Gordon should go back to BAJA or something. 16. Mark O. posted: 09.22.2008 - 5:19 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) DaleSrFan, you're an idiot. Evernham seems to be the one that gives people problems...name one owner Gordon left on bad terms with. Then, think of all the people Evernham has screwed over. Funny, Gordon finished better than all three GEM cars... 17. Chris posted: 09.22.2008 - 5:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) There you go again DaleSrFan, making excuses to undermine a good run by Waltrip. He ran many laps that were the fastest on the track. 18. Kit posted: 09.22.2008 - 7:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle Busch would have to win a lot of races with everyone else crashing for him to have any sort of a chance. He's too inconsistent anyway. 19. Ambrose_fan posted: 09.22.2008 - 8:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) That was a great battle between the 16, 17 and 99 over the last 30 laps or so. Very entertaining. Ambrose had a great run going before having an overheating problem. As Carl Edwards was lapping Tony Raines late in the race, Tony got loose and Ambrose ran into the back of him, messing up his radiator opening. They made multiple pit stops to repair the damage but by that time they were 5 laps down and out of it. Even though the result isn't there to show it, I'm sure Marcos would've been happy with the race. 20. Edwards99 posted: 09.23.2008 - 2:10 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) What a awful call by Bob. He's still one of the best and if Carl wins the championship will be a big reason why 21. DaleSrFanForever posted: 09.23.2008 - 2:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) ...name one owner Gordon left on bad terms with. Felix Sabates (the infamous "idiot switch" comment) Morgan McClure: they only lasted 5 races together, couldn't have been too friendly. Richard Childress: He played it classy publically, but inside you know he was glad to be rid of him. He placed him on probabtion within his own company after the 2004 Chase opener embarrassment, and he was always in turmoil with his teammates. Ford Motor Company: Not an owner, but after Robby's first unsuccessful stint as a car owner (as opposed to his current 2nd unsuccessful stint) he publically blasted Ford. DEI: While leasing engines from them in 2006 he publically criticized them for their lack of power. Yates/Roush: While leasing engines from them in 2007 he publically criticized them for their lack of fuel mileage as compared to the others. GEM: He has publically criticized them for their lack of power this year, which was cited in the lawsuit. Don't fool yourselves. GEM had no interest in having Robby Gordon as a part of their team after they sat back and thought about it. They may have wanted Robby's OWNER POINTS, but they had no interest in Robby. I don't know what was officially stated in the lawsuit, I only noticed the part about him criticizing them publically, but they don't want Robby. Otherwise they would have gone through with the merger, as Robby claims he still wishes to do so. Look, I'm not saying Evernham is a saint. I have a problem with the way he has done a lot of things, like how he screwed Casey Atwood. But if you have a guy already criticizing you, why go ahead with it? His history speaks for itself. The above list doesn't even include his LONG list of on track dust ups, and the revolving door of employees at RGM, and him having crew chiefs quit seemingly every other week (including Grer Erwin who went to the Biff and they have had just a little bit of success recently ). You can't deny that he has a very ugly history in NASCAR. 22. Baker posted: 09.24.2008 - 1:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) This is a joke. Nascar was willing to let Toyota have their fun pre championship, but now that it matters someone is making sure something will happen to the strong Toyota's come race day. Someone in the Hendrick camp will make sure something mysteriously happens to Biff and Edwards on raceday at some point in the near future as well. Johnson has this thing in the bag. I bet he wins next week and Edwards blows up! 23. Kit posted: 09.24.2008 - 9:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Baker is delusional. 24.
