Gordon has been my favorite for many years. Burton has always been one of my favorites. Clean racer, likeable guy. Plus he's from my home state of Virginia. All of that is now gone. You don't wreck a guy like that under caution. That was uncalled for. I think that scuffle made a statement for the rest of NASCAR. I wish Gordon would have did that to Kurt Busch at Martinsville. I definitely don't agree with the #24 crew pitting for the #48. Little Jimmie is finally being seriously challenged for a title and HIS OWN crew can't get the job done. Congrats to Denny on doing the Texas 2-step and getting the points lead. Momentum is definitely on his side right now. 4. potatosalad48 posted: 11.07.2010 - 7:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton went at it on the backstrech after Burton put the 24 in the wall. Gordon doesn't usually confront someone unless they did something wrong. 5. Jeff Burton wrecks Jeff Gordon, and Gordon tries to punch his lights out. Jimmie Johnson's crew is not so hot on the first few pit stops, so Chad Knaus replaces them with Gordon's crew after his car is totaled. Trevor Bayne gets a 17th place finish in his first Cup start. Matt Kenseth comes back to nearly win it from a lap down. Jimmie Johnson isn't leading the Chase with 2 races to go for the first time since 2005. And Denny Hamlin gets both his 8th win of the year and the points lead. What a race! 6. martin-n-rusty posted: 11.07.2010 - 8:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) For those that would complain about Kyle Busch flipping off an offical, and getting busted for it (just pre-emptive, just in case)... In baseball, you flip off an umpire, he will give you a digit right back, and it would be a thumb. In soccer, you flip off a referee, and the ref will give you a card in return, maybe a shade of yellow, possibly a shade of red. In hockey, you flip off a referee, you will probably get 2 in the box for unsportsmanlike conduct, and 10 for a Misconduct if the ref is in a good mood. In basketball, you flip off a referee, instant T, and possibly chucked from the game. In football, you flip off a referee, you just gave the other team 15 yards. I think compared to most of the sports on that list, I think Kyle got off quite lightly, unless more punishment comes along during the week 7. M&M's: melts on pit road, not in your hand. Only Jeff Burton can intentionally turn somebody into the wall under caution and still be classy about it. I still don't like it, or in this case even understand it. At least Gordon took his helmet off to fight this time. And when did he become NASCAR's punching bag? Somebody mentioned this on the Martinsville page, but this never would have even been thought of a few years ago. Now Gordon has blatently been dumped in 2 of 3 races. A great day of drama and suspense as it relates to the points battle, and ESPN totally butchered the telecast. As usual. They really need to clean house. This is exciting. This was a HUGE turning point for this year's championship and for the NASCAR of the past 5 years. For the first time since Tony Stewart and Zippy in 2005, a team is staring down the 48 team and flat out beating them. And what does ESPN do? Suck. 8. Greg Gruver posted: 11.07.2010 - 8:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Two races in a row Kyle Busch has cursed at NASCAR officals. (Sat Nationwide race and Sun Cup race). He should be suspended at least one race and if I was making the call, the rest of the season. Kyle is a very good driver but needs to learn that rules apply to everyone. Cursing in interviews and giving the finger to officals who are just doing the job that they have to do is no way to act with kids in the crowd and wating on TV. Kyle keeps proving that he is just a spoiled brat and needs someone to calm him down. If J.D. Gibbs won't do it then maybe NASCAR should. He makes the whole team look bad. 9. DaleSrFanForever posted: 11.07.2010 - 8:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) One other thing: Why would you bench your pit crew and bring in the best crew on pit road, then not pit under the last caution? 10. Denny Hamlin and the 11 team stepped up at the right time. The 48 team is at their weakest form in years. Jimmie's pit crew has been off before today and I thought it was their weak link. During the chase, the 48 pit crew had a bunch of pitstops that were 14 seconds or higher during the chase. Phoenix is the key for the championship. If Denny wins Phoenix, all Denny needs to do is ride in the top 10. I don't know if Jimmie's pit crew can get the job done at Phoenix. That team has finished well despite the pit crew for most the chase. It isn't the easiest to pass at Phoenix and the pit crew plays a key role here. 11. racer x posted: 11.07.2010 - 8:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jeff Burton wrecks Jeff Gordon under yellow. One of the dirtiest moves I ever witnessed in my life. I do not understand why everyone respects Burton so much. He is just like ever other driver to ever drive for Childress! Bronco posted: 11.07.2010 - 8:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) On Friday Sadler absolutely smoked the field in qualifying, setting the new record for the fastest laps turned in by the new car, easily beating the record that Dale Jr set back in March at Atlanta. It's a shame none of that translated to the race, since he gradually faded out of the top 5, without even leading a lap. Kyle flipping off the NASCAR official was absolutely hilarious. Its total bullshit that they screwed his day by penalizing him 2 laps for "unsportsmanlike conduct" while Kurt got away unpunished for his actions at Martinsville. Bayne does an incredible job coming from the back to finish 17th, on the lead lap ahead of even Carl Edwards. This is the second best result for the #21 this year, far better than where Bill usually finishes. The Gordon/Burton fight was surprising, simply because I expected Gordon to go after Burton when there was a little less attention focused on him. Hamlin has the chase points lead with two to go. DSFF must be on suicide watch right now. 13. joey2448 posted: 11.07.2010 - 8:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) My take on the Burton/Gordon scuffle: as soon as the caution waved, Jeff Gordon pulled alongside Jeff Burton to send him a message saying he is displeased with the way he was racing him. Burton attempted to come back and say hey that's just racing, but the two of them turned into each other unintentionally and wrecked. I don't believe Burton meant to take out Gordon. Season-long frustration reared it's ugly head in this race. I never expected to see these two respected veterans bring out the fisticuffs. Overall, a great day of racing and drama that wasn't artificially produced by NASCAR! Between the Burton/Gordon fight, Kyle Busch flipping off an official (hilarious!), Jimmie Johnson losing the points lead, Denny Hamlin coming back from 30th to win it, and the late battle for the lead with Kenseth, it was on-the-edge-of-you-seat excitement! 14. By Homestead he should be up to 2nd! It's the first time in Joey's short Cup series career that he has had four consecutive top ten finishes. Greg Biffle set a career high for laps led in a single race. His previous career best was also at Texas when he led 219 laps and won the April race in 2005. David Ragan had his best starting position of the season and his second highest finish of the season in this race. Great runs by Paul Menard and Marcos Ambrose. Kasey Kahne has finished ahead of the #9 car in the two non-restrictor plate races that he has driven the #83 car in. As previously mentioned, a great run by Trevor Bayne in his Cup series debut. He finished higher than Bill Elliott did in that car at Texas in April. 15. If you look at it on replay you can tell the front of Burton's car got hooked on the back of Gordon's car and when he tried to get loose it put Gordon into the wall. Gordon acts like he has never did anyone dirty, but DSFF in right, he has been getting dealt some blows the last few years that he never would have gotten during his prime. Gordon's memory is short. When he was going for the million in '97 he drove down on Burton at the end of the race at Darlington. I know it was for a million, but still yet he did drive dirty. And at the end of that race Gordon wanted Burton to understand the circumstances and didn't care how he drove. It's a lot different when the shoe is on the other foot, right Gordon? 27. The old Kyle Busch reared its ugly head again. If he could do it over again he probably would've gone a little faster getting back to the pits and not in the position to get held on pit road and set off the other problems. Kenseth has been passed for the lead inside of 2 laps to go 3 times at Texas since 2007. ('07 spring by Burton, '07 fall by Johnson, '10 fall by Hamlin) Hamlin becomes second driver to sweep Texas in a season (Edwards in 2008) and only the third multiple winner at TMS. (Edwards fall '05, both '08; Burton '97, spring '07; Hamlin both '10) Both Texas races this year saw the dominant car lose. David Reutimann's 15th place finish is not at all indicative of where he ran all day. He and Harvick both lost the handle at the worst time. Kenseth lost a lap due to an unscheduled pit stop and almost won, Burton had come back from a loose wheel to get into the top 10, then fell back into the Gordon incident, and Ryan Newman rebounded from losing a lap due to his seat belts coming loose and was in the top 10 until the last pit stop. 33. But I just don't see the #48 making much of a challenge after Chad Knaus switched pit crews with the #24 team after their exit. Team morale has to be destroyed over there right now. Plus, Denny has had more speed lately. I don't blame Jeff Gordon one bit for wanting to punch Burton's lights out (and this is coming from somebody whose #2 favorite driver is Burton!). I'd have reacted the EXACT same way if I were wrecked like that under caution. And it's pretty much the whole combination of things that have happened to Gordon lately, like being dumped by Kurt Busch at Martinsville two weeks ago that will get a driver on the edge like that. Also, Burton can say all he wants that he didn't mean to do it, but looking at the replay, it sure looks like he meant to do it. I'll still root for him on race day though. Complete heartbreak for Greg. He led pretty much the whole day until his transmission went bad and that caution coming out at the end. At least I can still say RFR would be winless this season if not for him. 35. 18fan posted: 11.07.2010 - 10:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) About 1/3 of Joey Logano's 89 career laps led came in this race. It was also the third time he's led more than 10 laps in a race. To show what a farce the chase is, Matt Kenseth has the same number of top 5s and two less top 10s than Logano, yet Kenseth is 5th in points while Logano is sixteenth. Joey's late season run reminds me of Kenseth's 2007 when he finished 5th, 4th, 2nd, 3rd, and 1st in the last five races. 36. He's way too emotional inside the car, just like a young Tony Stewart. Hopefully Gibbs can get through to him, because until that happens he will continue to destroy that team's chances of ever winning a title. And that would be terrible, considering the talent being wasted. DSFF you are 100% right about ESPN. It was another pitiful broadcast. Horrible, tight camerawork. Marty Reid continuing to rehash the same old storylines(JJ-Hamlin-Harvick)the whole race. It's like ESPN goes into the race with a set of storylines and sticks to them, even when the race turns out to be completely different. They are unable to just let the race play out. 37. 18fan posted: 11.07.2010 - 11:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I would actually rather have Bill Weber in the booth than Reid. Reid blows the number of different leaders and lead changes way out of proportion, half the time doesn't know what the hell is going on, and just doesn't seem very knowledgeable about the sport. Weber was at least knowledgeable about the sport, he just made so many mistakes in his calls of races like "Harvick sweeps at Bristol... at Richmond" or his tendency to declare "The caution is out the race is over" before the race was declared over, but I would take him over Reid. I don't have a problem with this - Kenseth has been steady all year, with I believe only 2 finishes outside the top 20 all year. The fact is, Harvick is putting up championship numbers, and he's done it all season, including the chase: Harvick's Chase finishes: 5th 15th 3rd 7th 8th 3rd 2nd 6th His average finish this year so far is 8.9, which is better than ANY SEASON JIMMIE JOHNSON HAS EVER HAD (9.7 in 2006 is his best). The championship is Harvick's. If Hamlin wins, it's yet another sham. If Jimmie Johnson wins it would be at least his 2nd stolen title. It isn't fair, this isn't the way NASCAR should be, and these stats should piss off anyone who has been a NASCAR fan longer than 6 years. We had a terrible pit stall though because we were right with the guys we were racing with and I couldn't get it in and out and got boxed in a few times. We had to pass so many cars, like 10 or 15 a run until pit stops. Finally Reutimann helped me out and stayed over to the left in his box and that really helped us. That was incredible. These things are so much fun. I wish I could do it every weekend. It was a blast to drive and to be that fast for a first run is incredible. Donnie Wingo, everybody at Wood Brothers Racing and Roush Fenway and Ford I want to thank for giving me this opportunity. I don't really know what to say. That's how I feel. I don't like JJ, but I don't dislike him the way I do Hamlin and Harvick. Here is my take on what JGR should do to Kyle: there seem to be two trains of thought on him. 1) Don't do anything to him, that is his personality, you have to take the good with the bad (or in this case, utterly embarrassing) or 2) Fire him. I am in the middle. If I were the coach, I would sit him out the last two races of the year. I wouldn't yell, I would just say the following to him: "You have the most natural driving ability of anyone out there, and you have outstanding equipment, look at what Denny is doing. I want you to take these last two weeks of the season, as well as the entire offseason, and think about how you want to behave and what you would like to accomplish in this sport, because they are directly related. Do some serious soul searching. Are you going to act like the adult you are, or like a spoiled adolescent? Are you going to handle adversity by screaming and cursing on the radio, or by digging deeper, and fighting your way out of it? It's your choice." 53. It's a tough call, but I doubt anyone else would have been lucky enough to escape a penalty. Sixth top ten of the season for Paul Menard, 5 of which have come at the 1.5 mile tracks. All the clowns who think that he doesn't deserve a ride just because he brings his own sponsorship can suck it. He has probably been the most improved driver this year, by far. How much longer before the experiment with Lance McGrew ends? Dale finishes 25th at one of his best tracks, where had a solid run in the spring. This is the second straight race at an intermediate where his car has been totally off from the beginning. Its tough to watch his career and confidence take a beating driving those mediocre cars. Both of Hamlin's Texas wins came from the 15th row, in both cases he took the lead at the very end and held on. 54. I didn't want to mention this originally, because I've made my opinion of Kyle known enough on this site. But I'm glad Dave Rogers yelled back at him over the radio for what he did. Yes, NASCAR has their heads up their asses and have for quite some time, but how did he figure flipping an official off would help the team? He's never going to win a Cup championship this way. 55. The tire was in the hands of a crew man who was getting ready to g around to get it on the left side of the pitbox when the crew member got hit and the tire came out. Understand now? It is the usual deal when that happens. It has happened for other drivers in the past. If the team carelessly handled the tire and it left the stall, then yes, it would be a penalty. Now i've had enough of the all the complaining about stuff, and people are sick of seeing Jimmie win so they are changing it again. It's all hell of a alot better then the BCS in the college football. Atleast in the Chase you decide it on track not by computers. However NASCAR chooses to run things it's their choice, but hey the fan think they are so smart then why don't they create their own series and rival NASCAR. Would anyone like to step up to that challenge? NASCAR does what it does because the "fans" say it's boring, so NASCAR does all the tweaks (wether you like them or not) and try to please fans. How would NASCAR please me? Put on a good race and keep me entertained. But it's not NASCARs fault that "fans" want a barn burner all the time. So why should i watch what other fans say is "fixed", "contrived", and well "boring." So can someone ask me why i should stay as a fan of NASCAR if everything is as bad as claimed by NASCAR fans? If i sound well "out of my mind" then well that is because i've had enough. If NASCAR died today *heaven forbid* then BF & crew, TV networks, sponsers would get 60-70% of the blame, "fans" would get the rest. *steps off soapbox* Edit: I'm not pointing the finger at anyone on here and i don't mean to make enemies but i've said what i said. It's also his 4th Chase win, all coming in the last 2 seasons. It's JGR's 88th win in Cup. Matt Kenseth gets his 2nd runner-up finish of the season, his first since the 4th race of the season at Atlanta. It's only his 2nd top five in the last 22 races. Mark Martin has 10+ top tens for the 23rd consecutive season. He's scored the 5th most points over the last 7 races with 2 top fives and 3 top tens. Joey Logano's now doubled his top 5 and top 10 totals from from his rookie season. Greg Biffle has 5 straight top ten finishes at Texas. He has 3 top fives in the last 6 races but also has finishes of 33rd and 41st. Kevin Harvick gets his 6th straight top ten, and 7th in 8 Chase races. Clint Bowyer records his career-best 18th top ten finish of the season. David Ragan has 2 top tens in the last 4 races, after just 3 in the previous 67. Jimmie Johnson has a 7 race top 10 streak going, but his finishes have been getting worse with nearly each race; 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th. Paul Menard has his 3rd top ten in the last 7 races. All the drivers wanted was for NASCAR to let up on the warnings about bump drafting, and using the bumper to MOVE, NOT WRECK, someone out of the way when he's blocking. But NASCAR threw the rule book out and allowed drivers to intentional wreck one another at will. That is over agressive and should not be allowed at any level of the sport. I can't stand Chad either (he is a cheater and an arrogant jerk), but I don't think it's smart saying that. First of all, it's not true. Ever since the switch to the spoiler, the 48 team has struggled for the most part on the intermediates. Since the switch away from that ugly ass wing, the 11 team has 5 wins on tracks 1.3 miles or longer while the 48 has none (Sears Point doesn't count, it is a low speed road course). They have had the speed all year while the 48 has been spotty at best. Oddly enough, their best intermediate runs with the spoiler have come when it counted, in the cha$e races at Kansas, Cali, and Charlotte, beating the 11 each time. But even in those races, they had to grind it out. The 11 team should be WAY more than 33 points ahead with 2 races left. And for Mike to say their team is better than the 48, holy shit!! Does he realize that if the 11 wins the title (which is the smart bet) they will have 1/4 the titles of the 48? That this year will be the 48's 9th consecutive Top 5 points finish in 9 years of existance? That they have led the points at some point in 8 of their 9 years? Before they can go puffing their chests out, they have put together a run of more than one non-disappointing seasons in a row. Otherwise they will just be a footnote in the Johnson/Knaus era. Was Rusty and the #27 Blue Max team better than the Earnhardt/Childress team? Rusty beat them straight up in 1989. Of course not. Was the Labonte/Hagan team better than the Junior Johnson/Waltrip team of the 80s? They beat them in 1984. Of course not. So Mike, keep it classy. JGR has had enough embarrassments in the last 10 years between Stewart's never ending antics, Denny's previous calling the team out every other week, and the monument to childish embarrassment himself, Kyle Busch. Plus, you aren't a scab on Chad's balding head. And I know what a few of you will say, "Oh there is DSFF with yet another JJ love fest post, why don't you two get a room?". First of all, I'm telling it like it is. Secondly, I'm pulling for JJ in this year's cha$e because I absolutely can't stand Hamlin or Harvick. Last year, I was pulling for Mark like crazy. When Homestead ended, and Mark finished 2nd yet again, I felt like my dog had been shot. In 2008, I was pulling for Carl to beat him because, like an idiot, I was buying into the whole "Carl is a great guy with a genuine aw shucks attitude" bullshit. In retrospect, I am REALLY glad he didn't win. In '07 I didn't give a shit either way. After a season of watching HMS win everything, I just wanted the season to end. In '06, I REALLY wanted Burton or Kenseth to win it. In '05, I was actually pulling for Tony to win it because I believed he had turned a corner (which, in all fairness, he did for a year, then turned right back around the other way). And in '04 I was hoping Kurt would hold off Johnson and Gordon and was glad when he did. YIKES!!! 73. Jimmie and Chad have NEVER had to deal with this during their streak; they've either run away with the championship or been the hunters and took over the lead late and never looked back. The last time Jimmie was in this spot was 2005, which is also JGR's last Cup championship. I'm loving this trend. Phoenix is going to be really interesting. The April race was Denny's first race after his ACL surgery and he ended up wrecking and finishing 2 laps down in 30th, so who knows how they'll run this weekend. Denny's no slouch there, he had 5 top fives and 6 top tens in the 7 races previous including four 3rd place finishes. Denny also finished 2nd at Loudon at 1st at Martinsville so the short/flat track program is looking good. Jimmie's been amazing at Phoenix over the last 4 years with 4 wins and finished 3rd in the April race so you know he'll be there again. He seems to get into flame wars with every fan of every driver that isn't one of his favorites on their respective pages, constantly tries to downplay any achievement that isn't 3 or more championships or 50+ wins, and always takes obvious trolls waaaaaay too seriously. It gets a bit tiring going to different pages and seeing some long flame war between DaleSrFanForever and some other random internet idiot. Sometimes he just doesn't seem to enjoy the sport at all and it makes you wonder why he even wastes any of his time on it. I don't know if he just comes here to purposely get into arguments or what, but a lot of times it sure seems that way. Maybe he's a troll himself, sometimes it's difficult to tell if he says what he says just to get enraged responses, or if he is actually that callous and bitter toward the rest of the NASCAR nation. 88. Supposedly the check was supposed to clear on Monday but never did, then it was supposed to on Tuesday and once again never did. I believe I saw that the haulers can only go for 10 hours and then park for 10 hours. From Texas to Phoenix the report said takes 18 hours. It don't make sense to me about the 18 hours to get to AZ from Texas but I have never did that travel. I've gone to Illinois from my house and Pennsylvania from my house too. The last time I check Pocono isn't in the chase and that is a two and half mile track and is Denny's best big track in his cup career. Denny's top 2 mile and a half tracks in his cup career is Texas Motorspeedway and Homestead. Denny has a good track record at those tracks going into the season. Denny being only up by 33 points on Jimmie is caused by the fact Denny doesn't have a great tack record at Kansas Motor Speedway and at Auto Club Motor Speedway and Jimmie Johnson has a better track record at those two places. Denny only has 1 top 10 at Kansas Motor Speedway in his cup Career and that in 2009 with a 5th place finish. Denny only has 1 top 5 finish in his 10 starts there. He is the most talented driver out there, has been in excellent equipment, but has let his temper hold him back from getting more wins and at least one other title ('06). He is way more talented than JJ and has been in comprable equipment, except in '03, '04, and '07. No way he should be behind JJ in anything. "Kyle should be performing to the same level that Jeff Gordon was in the mid 90s" He is more talented than Jeff and has comprable equipment. But his meltdowns when the pressure is one have doomed him and his ability to get mad and let races get away make Tony look like a saint. "and Dale Jr should have about 40 wins and a championship." 40 wins might be a bit of a stretch, but he very talented when he is focused and had excellent equipment from DEI from '00-'07 (with the exception of '05) as evidenced from his teammates performances. Compare Michael Waltrip's numbers from 2001-2004 to the rest of his career. If even he can put up somewhat respectable numbers, the equipment is damn good. And in '07, his teammate made the cha$e. And his equipment for the last 3 years needs no explanation. "Since none of them have met those lofty expectations, he bashes them. God alone knows where you come up with those unreachable standards" I just told you how. I look at how they are at their best and the equipment they drive. "Listen to DSFF dissect the "mental crisis" of Dale Earnhardt Jr and you'd think he's known the guy his entire life. It's actually pretty funny." I don't have to know the guy, I just look at the numbers, look at his equipment, and realize something is amiss. He won 15 races in his first 5 years in Cup with 3 Top 5 points finishes. Yes, 7 of those were at plate tracks in DEI's untouchable plate equipment, but the other 8 came at tough tracks like Bristol, Phoenix, Dover, Richmond, and Atlanta. The guy can drive a race car and win. But in the 6 seasons since he has 3 total wins, including TWO stretches of going more than two years between wins. And from '07 to present he has been badly outperformed by teammates. In '07 Truex made made the cha$e and won a race, in '08 he had 2 teammates make the cha$e including the champion while he sunk to the bottom of the cha$e crapper. In '09, his teammates finished 1-2-3 in points while both corporate teammates at SHR made the cha$e while June finished 25th. This year, despite being given key people from Mark's team, he is lagging way behind again. There is no tangible explanation for this. It doesn't add up. Period. "I don't have to know the guy, I just look at the numbers, look at his equipment, and realize something is amiss." Yes, something is amiss, and it's proper cars to drive week in and week out. You don't run out of talent and finish 6 laps down at Richmond, then finish 4th at New Hampshire next week, and then finish 3 laps down at Charlotte followed by leading 90 laps and finishing 7th at Martinsville the next week unless your team can't consistently bring a good car to the track. Of course, a clown like you probably believes that one week Dale doesn't give a shit about his finish, and the next week he drives his butt off. Indy Car isn't the same series as it was at the time Dan Wheldon won his title in 2005. Indy Car has more Road Courses and Street Courses than it did in 2005. He's won the last 4 Rally America championships and nearly won the Race of Champions' Nations Cup in 2006 by himself after his teammates Jimmie Johnson and Scott Speed had to withdraw due to injuries; he lost in the final round to Heikki Kovalainen. The guy has great car control which should allow him to adapt to stock cars more quickly than most going from another form of motorsport to NASCAR. 20 races in 2010 would make him eligible for ROTY. KBM could have either Dan Wheldon or Tony Kanaan in a Truck in 2011. 134. It will be quite interesting to see if he can live up to all this hype he gets. As for Wheldon or Kanaan, I think they could be good if they aren't rushed right into Cup the way Dario Franchitti was. 135. 00andJoe posted: 11.13.2010 - 3:08 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ah, Travis P. isn't running a full schedule right off the bat? Kid has some smarts, then, he might just go far. Agree on #134 with regard to Wheldon. Everybody tabbed to be "The Next Tony Stewart" has been rushed into Cup, ignoring that Tony had 2-3 partial/"mostly"-schedule Busch series before moving up, and that, well, there isn't a "next Tony Stewart". The only one to come close is JPM, and that's probably because he'd already spent so much time with Ganassi that they knew each other well already. Let's look at the rest: Fittipaldi, Villeneuve, Franchitti, Carpentier, Pruett...all tossed directly at Cup, more or less, and all sent packing. 136. Their goal is to have him ready for 2013 Speedweeks. 137. Your (not so) secret crush on him is going to lead nowhere. 140. Because who doesn't building theories and making sentences based on his own experience and knowledge is just boring. Are there anyone who works in current Sprint Cup team to know how it REALLY going? To tell us something about June's motivation or Hendrick's equipment or Kyle's behavior from his own experience at least just like journalists doing? If no - we're all in the same boat. Making our conclusions from watching races, listening interviews, reading quotes etc. Listening to DSFF's opponents who talking about "smartness" I can say that before I was first time in USA I could think that all this including NASCAR is just movie. Would it be smart? Just a joke... 142. DaleSrFanForever posted: 11.14.2010 - 1:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "A nurse talking s**t about a race car driver when it comes to manliness." Paramedic. Get it right. @139: That was actually a shot at JJ. He has sucked the life out of this sport due to his personality that rivals one of his sponsor's inanimate hardware products. But everyone who knows him away from the track talks about what a character he truly is. If he'd have shown that during all of his domination, NASCAR would have been a lot more fun to follow these last few years. 143. Regarding Dale, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, around the 88 team have stated over and over and over and OVER again he is focused, working hard, and is putting in the effort. It would be different if it was just one or two people defending him, but when you have the team owner and other major components around that team come out and defend him the credibility of his detractors go down. Of course, the detractors have a theory as to why they defend him too. 144. Jeff and Jeff are then escorted into the same ambulance and the conversation between Jeff and Jeff had to be akward. 150.
