Right now I list these drivers as Tier 1: Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth. After 2016? Jimmie Johnson & Matt Kenseth are the only two now. Depending how much better Kevin Harvick could get on winning races between now and ending of 2016, he could be an honorable mention. We'll see. 7. And just last year he scored 2 victories, made it to round 3 in the chase, and wound up a respectable 9th in points in a terrible RFR car. So I'd say so. 14. someone posted: 10.02.2015 - 4:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Also MAR, how's Jr a tier above Edwards and Hamlin? Jr has 25 wins since 2000, Edwards has 25 wins since 2005, and Hamlin has 26 wins since 2006. Personally, I think they're all tier 2 drivers. In fact, I may not even include Kenseth there, remember he had some pretty bad years at Roush in the late 2000s and early 2010s. I think tier 1 is Johnson, Gordon, Stewart, and thats it, those three drivers are hands down the best of our era and were capable of just dominating the series. Stewart maybe not as much as JJ or Gordon but I'd still put him there because he has three championships and what he was able to do with what used to be a midpack at best team in Haas CNC racing turning them into weekly contenders. Oh and of course his 2011 championship run which is undoubtedly the single most clutch moment in NASCAR history. (And it happened WITHOUT the gimmicky elimination format chase!) Kurt, Kyle, Keselowski, Logano, Junior, Hamlin, and Edwards are all tier two and Harvick and Kenseth are kind of in a class by themselves in between 1 and 2 in my opinion. 17. The only years he performed below expectation were 2006, 2009, 2012, and maybe this year. In 2006 and 2009 Roush was terrible, each year they only got 2 drivers into the chase and had like 3-4 wins, so it isn't 100% Carl's fault. 2012 I will say he 100% underperformed considering Biffle and Kenseth were each battling for the points lead at various points throughout the season; while Carl could barely stay top 15 in points. I really do not understand why everyone (Including Carl himself) figured Carl would be a dominant force this year. Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, and Kevin Harvick each dominated in their first seasons with their new teams, because those teams have already been set up prior to their seasons (the current SHR #4 is the old SHR #39). Carl Edwards' #19 team is new this year, so I really do not think it's a fair comparison. The closest comparison should be Kurt Busch's 2014 season, because that was the #41 car's first season, and Carl Edwards' 2015 has been way better than Kurt Busch's 2014. However, it is still unfair because Kurt Busch's 2014 was way more unorganized. So really, Carl Edwards has performed at my expectations. Lastly, although the two wins Carl did acquire this season were kind of flukey (he did have the best car at the end of the Darlington race, he just had to use up his car battling Truex Jr in addition to Harvick and Keselowski on the second to last run), he DID have possibly the fastest car in both Bristol races, but lost them to various circumstances, so it all evened out. 26. racefangurl posted: 10.02.2015 - 5:23 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) Want evidence? All except Stewart and Edwards are Group A on Yahoo! Fantasy NASCAR. And Edwards is Group B only because of a new team this year. Dale Jr. only has 2 Daytona 500 races that I consider Marquee Events and Carl has a Coca Cola 600 win and Southern 500 win. If you were referring for 2014, sure. But for this season? Sorry, Keselowski hasn't even been a hot rod this year whatsoever. He's had a couple of amazing runs (1st Loudon, Watkins Glen) at his best tracks, otherwise he hasn't really been that great this year. Hell, his win at Fontana was perfect timing and he's winless regardless of that race. 30. In Junior's bad seasons (2005, 2007, and 2011) he does pretty much the same thing as Carl in has bad seasons, HOWEVER Jr. also has two abysmal seasons (2009 and 2010) where he was just terrible. Also marquee races for me are the Daytona 500, the Coca Cola 600, the Brickyard 400, and the Southern 500. Junior has two 500's, and Carl has a 600 and a Southern 500, which is the same amount of marquee wins. So I'd say they're equal in that category. 32. Just like he was suppose to be a top contender in 06 he was invisible all season and this season his expectations we're he was going to have seasons like Busch and Kenseth had in there first season at JGR. At the moment he's not going to live up to that expectation either so there's no way possible he's tier one but he's definitely tier 2. 35. someone posted: 10.02.2015 - 5:43 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) I wouldn't say Keselowski has been invisible. He had fast cars, and easily could've won at Martinsville, Loudon 1, Watkins Glen, Darlington, and maybe even Loudon 2 until that BS restart call (and I'm a Brad HATER). Also he had a streak of ten consecutive races with a top 10 finish, and easily could've been 11 if not for that restart call. Has he been as good as Logano, no. But he has been solid this season. 36. MAR posted: 10.02.2015 - 5:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Now in Dale Jr's defense until 2011 I never felt IMO he had ever been in top tier equipment cause his DEI days we're no where near top equipment outside of the plate tracks DEI never fully got to it's peak before they started a steady decline in 05. I know Jr had a couple awful season at Hendrick when he got there but he was driving the re numbered step child car at Hendrick the ghost of the #25. Wasn't until 2011 when Dale Jr got equipment close enough to Jimmie and Jeff so that coupled with consistent seasons and a couple marquee wins is why I label Jr tier one but that's just my opinion. 37. Big Mac Fan posted: 10.02.2015 - 5:50 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @35 I agree he has done good but coupled with the way Logano has been performing and his 6 win 1700 lap season last year it makes him look invisible. And the top 10 streak imo means he's consistent, but not dominant. Like last year he was easily a top 5 car and he only had 3 6-10th place finishes. This year he has 13, and top-10's don't win a title, top-5's do. 38. While they were exceptional at the plate tracks, they ran well everywhere else and Junior had 3 top 5 points finishes with the team and 17 wins and thousands of laps led. He was also the favorite for the 2004 title until he got a language penalty and two crashes (wanna talk about choking?). However he easily outperformed all of his teammates and was the star driver there. DEI was definetly not Hendrick but they were almost there from about 2003-2004. I agree the team took a turn for the worst beginning in 2005. I think the only black mark on Junior's record was from mid 2008 to 2011 where he just couldn't pull off a win. 40. That weekly argument turned stale long ago. However, it seems a new debate has turned up over which tiers each driver belongs in. *sigh* It's an endless cycle. The biggest news coming into this weekend is the official announcement that three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart will be hanging up the helmet after the 2016 season. "Smoke" said he is running next year for the fans. It was also announced that Clint Bowyer will be taking over Stewart in the No. 14 Chevy in 2017, and will drive for HScott Motorsports in the gap year in 2016, since his current team Michael Waltrip Racing will be shutting down after 2015. Bowyer will be bringing 5-Hour Energy sponsorship to HScott. Regarding HScott's lineup in 2016, I've heard that Michael Annett will be returning but Justin Allgaier may be out of a ride? Tony was declining before he broke his leg, but that injury and Kevin Ward Incident caused his decline even faster. He's at the point of his career that Dale Jarrett, Darrell Waltrip and Richard Petty were when they retired full time from cup racing. Denny Hamlin is sort of like that too, his 2011 season was pretty bad when he was the title favorite. 48. Big Mac Fan posted: 10.02.2015 - 7:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @47 I eventually understood what MAR meant, but it is almost a commonly known fact that a driver will fail the next season after barely missing the title or winning it, unless that driver is named Jimmie Johnson. Carl Edwards was great in 08 and 11 but failed in 09 and 12. Hamlin almost won in 2010 but he was irrelevant in 2011. After one last push for greatness in 2014, Gordon's 2015 has fallen flat on its face. After coming close in 2005, Biffle missed the chase completely in 2006. After a record breaking 2007, Gordon went winless in 2008. After his last bids in 2002 and 2009, Mark Martin had some of his worst seasons in 2003, 2010, and 2011. After losing the title in 2004, Jr had a bad 2005. Keselowski has declined this year. Gordon came close in 2004, but he had his worst statistical season of his career in 2005, despite 4 wins. After his great 2008 regular season, Kyle Busch fell flat on his face in the chase and missed the chase completely in 2009. After his great 2012, Biffle declined the rest of his career. So it's not that Edwards or any of these drivers choked the next season, but it's usually that coming so close but falling short of the title usual has a mental and physical impact on the teams the next year. 49. Martin Truex Jr broke a 6 year winless streak and won at Pocono this year after his win at Sonoma in 2013, and he did it for one car team Furniture Row. However after MWR's great season in 2012 it was evident Truex would win again, which he did the next year. And Bill Elliott would have more than 44 wins if he didn't make the decision to drive for his own team. That really held him back. And considering that he won 4 races in 3 seasons afterwards, just imagine what he could've accomplished from 1995-2000 if he was on a good team. At least you can argue this is a playoff using eliminations and at least it creates incentives for winning, which the NASCAR points system by itself doesn't create. I'd still prefer no chase, mind you, but this is more what a chase should be. But I *really* don't understand how the tiebreakers work. And the real issue for ALL of NASCAR's points systems is that the mid-pack positions are rewarded too much over the finishes in the back of the pack, and the top ten positions aren't rewarded enough. That's the reason why Jeff Gordon ridiculously lost the title in 1996, why Gordon ridiculously didn't make the final round last year, and why Harvick and/or Johnson will likely be eliminated this round this year. Finishing 5th, 5th, and 28th should not be better than finishing 2nd, 2nd, and 43rd, but unfortunately it is. 183. 88&4Fan posted: 10.04.2015 - 4:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Junior is back in now. I think this because Carl Edwards and Joey Logano are tied coming into this race, Carl needs to finish 32nd or better, yet Joey needs to finish 31st or better. Carl's best finish of the round is 2nd, Joey's is 3rd. 188. Nathan8848 posted: 10.04.2015 - 4:19 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) YES!! YES!! In the regular chase, Jimmie Johnson would be 51 points behind points leader Matt Kenseth, meaning he'd probably be out of contention whether it was the old chase or the new chase. And while the people who like this system may say, "Hey! Johnson didn't perform in the heat of battle, so he deserves to be out!", it is actually the opposite. Several drivers in just 2 years have an issue not of their own doing, Dale, Jr. (tire failure while leading), Kyle Busch (big one), Joey Logano (horrible pit stop), Jeff Gordon (cut tire and spin), Jimmie Johnson (mechanical failure), and it wipes them out of contention because of the fault of either the crew, other drivers, or horrible circumstances, while they were running great. And considering the fact that he has led the same amount of laps at SHR as he did at RCR in ELEVEN less seasons show that we've had no idea what he could do all along. If I could, I would edit my post at Richmond and put Harvick at about 12th. He's been diverse all around and won all of the big races and he also has his race team to add as well. Though I got worried when they decided to take only 2 at the end, I remembered Jimmie stayed out at the end of the last Dover race and nobody with fresh tires was able to catch him. After a whole season of being the class of the field but giving away wins, it's good to see the 4 team come through in the clutch in the chase once more. The race wasn't too horrible, but was helped out mostly due to the chase drama (and my future number 1 guy dominating helped). Dover still needs to lose a date (this one), and the remaining race needs to be dropped to 300 laps/miles since 400 miles also seems to take longer to run here than 600 at Charlotte and 500 at Pocono. The attendance at Dover is pathetic to say the least. Granted this race wasn't at all helped by the threat of a hurricane, Dover has had NXS looking crowds for the Cup races for years now. I don't really feel sorry for the 48 team not advancing when they spent most the summer just logging laps/going through the motions until the chase. People shit on Kyle Busch for unwilling missing a couple of months due to injury, then why not shit on Jimmie & the 48 team for willing giving less than a 100% each week since July and basically taking a vacation while still racing. Jeff Burton at Roush was heck of a driver from 1997 to 2000 and I liked talent level better than Bobby Labonte's. Bobby Labonte was a good driver, but his talent wasn't as good as Jeff Burton's. Jeff Burton was a great Flat Track driver in his prime see what he did at New Hampshire and Phoenix. Jeff also could do mile and half tracks, very good at Darlington, go good at Rockingham and could do short tracks. There is a reason why Dale Sr. looked at Jeff Burton as replacement for him at RCR. The best way to compare to Jeff Burton at his peak is a poorman's Matt Kenseth. While Jeff was not on Matt's level, Jeff was not that far away from it. Jeff Burton at his peak was a driver that wasn't a great qualifier, but he raced way better on race day. The big problem with Jeff Burton besides being poor qualifier was had some problems sealing the deal like he should've won at least 3 Southern 500's, but only won 1. His 1997 Southern 500 battle with Jeff Gordon was a prime example of this. Burton at RCR also was very good concerning the equipment RCR had. I am not going by Majors, since the Southern 500 is the only race of the 4 that is on the driver a lot. The Daytona 500 is a crapshoot based on who won at Daytona like Michael Waltrip. The Coca Cola 600 and the Brickyard are more on Equipment than the driver. What I am going by with Kevin is where he won and won races with equipment that he shouldn't have at RCR. When Kevin took over for Dale Sr., RCR equipment was not as good as it was in Dale's championships years. The 4 team this year and last year is dominating like the 3 car did in 1987 the 2 car in 1993 did as examples, but doesn't the wins as those two teams did. 488. I know there have been real surprises about drivers not getting into The Chase, such as both Jeff Gordon and Dale, Jr. in 2005 or Tony Stewart in 2006, when he was the reigning champion, may have been real surprises, but they didn't really run that well in those years (I know Jeff won three of the first nine races in 2005, but they were at the first two plate races and at Martinsville). But what happened to Jimmie, not making it out of the first round, was the biggest shock in the 12-year history of The Chase. After all, he only had to beat out four of 15 other drivers, and he couldn't do it. I know it was from a mechanical failure, but this greatest of all Chase shocks may underline, once and for all, how badly HMS has underperformed in 2015. Dale, Jr. hasn't really run that well, though he had a great run at Dover, Kasey Kahne has usually been terrible, though he too, had a good run at Dover, Jimmie Johnson has been scattershot, at best, and for most of the second half of the season, Jeff Gordon has been the best of the Hendrick bunch, but really hasn't threatened to win, except at Chicago. And I believe this Hendrick malaise in 2015 can be traced to Jeff Gordon's announcement before the season even started that this would be his final season. The malaise began with the #24 team after the first month, then spread to the #5 team, and then in mid-season, that malaise spread to the other two HMS teams, the #48 and #88. I believe what's happened is that HMS looked at the 2015 season as one to celebrate the career of Gordon, and as a result, has allowed itself to get behind, as well as looking forward to when Chase Elliott joins HMS full-time in 2016. I don't think they'll be behind for very long. Also, this race featured another surprising run from Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., who does seem to be stepping it up a couple of notches. The malaise at Ford, which had centered itself around Roush for nearly three years, seems to be spreading to at least one of the Penske teams (the #2 team), but Stenhouse's good runs are a good sign for a struggling organization that have significant issues, especially with two of it's drivers. We all know that, at nearly 46 years of age, Greg Biffle's days as a top-tier contender in NASCAR's highest series are just about over, and I really have to believe (and have since Charlotte) that Trevor Bayne's health issues are adversely affecting his performance, whether anyone over there wants to admit it (the Bayne/Bob Osborne combo has also been a total disaster since the start). And with Chris Buescher about to possibly win the 2015 XFinity Championship, I think Roush, who's already said he thinks Chris is ready for the Cup Series, may want to look at putting Buescher into either the 6 or 16 car next year. 494. This shouldn't piss people off; you're stating facts. I have nothing against Bayne for being a devout Christian, but it does seem that this is the primary reason why he has such a large fanbase (and his Daytona 500 win no doubt obtained him a bunch of bandwagon fans). People can be fans of his for whatever reason they want, of course. But surely, if you like to follow devoutly religious drivers, you can find ones that are just as pious as Bayne while being far more talented. 495. My reasoning is by how Hendrick is running as whole and it was discussed by CJS3872. When the 48 team wasn't even a threat to win the Brickyard 400 this year, there was a read flag. While the 48 team is known to experiment during the summer, they actually are known to give their all for the Brickyard 400. What you mentioned about what the 48 team is known to do is why I can't rank Jimmie any higher than I can. I can't blame for the 48 team for doing that traditionally though due to NASCAR being responsible for creating the environment of teams experimenting during races for getting prepared for the chase. 498. He spun, tagged the inside wall, and then spun directly in front of the field and right into the Jimmie Johnson. Busch kept spinning and Jamie McMurray, Brad Keselowski and Kasey Kahne slammed into him having no where to go. McMurray, Johnson and Kahne all went up the track and collected Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Joey Logano, and Aric Almirola. As the cars slid down the banking, Matt Dibenedetto, Casey Mears, Austin Dillon, and Juatin Allgaier were collected. The hit from Allgaier caused Junior to flip upside down. A bit specific? 499. Another problem is that, whenever Dale, Jr. and Jimmie decide to hang it up (and Kasey Kahne is eventually let go, unless his performance improves), who are their replacements going to be? However, there's another point to bring up, something I've brought up before regarding quite a number of the big teams, and that's the age of the car owners. Of the big teams that have been contenders for many years, only Joe Gibbs Racing and Richard Childress Racing have actually planned for the future. Gibbs will turn 75 just before Thanksgiving, Childress just recently celebrated his 70th birthday (on September 21), Jack Roush is 73, Roger Penske is 78 (as is Richard Petty), and Rick Hendrick is the "youngster" in the group at 66. That's why the demise of Michael Waltrip Racing was so sad to watch, because Michael was one of the younger car owners that was capable of taking the sport into the next generation when guys like Joe Gibbs, Jack Roush, Richard Childress, Rick Hendrick, and Roger Penske are gone. Chip Ganassi, at the age of 57, is actually one of the younger car owners among those that own the big teams, along with SHR co-owner Tony Stewart (44). What's the sport going to look like when these legendary car owners are no longer around? RCR and JGR have solved that problem for themselves, but Hendrick (due to the 2004 plane crash), Roush, and Penske have no plan of succession in place, so what happens to their teams when Rick, Jack, and Roger are no longer able to run their operations? What I see is a major power vacuum developing within the next 5-10 years, and it could spell BIG trouble for the depth in the Cup Series. 503. racefangurl posted: 10.05.2015 - 10:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 493, why did you start thinking that way starting at Charlotte time? I personally think Hendrick is in big trouble. Gordon, Johnson, and Jr. will all retire with 5 years and there will be no one to replace the talent and marketability of those drivers. I know Chase Elliott is coming up, but I'm not entirely sold on him due to the fact that we haven't seen much of him in Cup yet. Kahne will probably get released if he doesn't pick performance up and the only big name FA soon is Hamlin. So if Elliott doesn't pan out. Hendrick is in deep trouble unless he somehow pulls a random name out of a hat like he did with Johnson and he just happens to turn into a superstar. The point is that Gordon and Johnson are once in a lifetime talents. Hendrick's driver lineup may struggle after that. However, Rick won't end up like Jack equipment wise because Rick usually makes smarter choices as an owner. October 24, 2004 is a day that will live in infamy for Hendrick. Athough it's almost been 11 years and few think about it, that may have killed Hendrick beyond Rick. Rick will soon retire and who is the heir? They lost 10 great people including engine builders, executives, family and pilots in that crash and it may have a bigger impact than what we think. You had Ricky Hendrick, who would have most likely would have taken over the organization after Rick. You also had his brother and his 2 twin nieces (I think?), that could have contributed to the organization as well. For Gibbs you have JD, Penske the Cindrics, RCR the Dillons (Mike, Austin and Ty) but now no one for Hendrick. Cjs, doesn't Roush have a son named Jack Roush, Jr.? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere and he could possibly take over (that is if Roush still exists). So by 2025, Hendrick may have no leader AND drivers. That is sad to think about considering how dominant they have been. Hendrick Motorsports reminds me of the San Antonio Spurs: Mostly loved (or hated) by all fans and they have been just so dominant. I can ever make analogies to the drivers: Jeff Gordon- Tim Duncan Terry Labonte- David Robinson Jimmie Johnson- Tony Parker (closest thing I could find, but an even better version of Parker) Geoff Bodine & Tim Richmond- George Gervin Ken Schrader- Sean Elliott Dale Jr.- Lamarcus Aldridge (I know he hasn't played yet) Many were questioning whether the Spurs would be done after Duncan, like Gordon, would be retiring within a couple years. However they signed Aldridge with Leonard so they should be set. If Hendrick can find either FA's or develop stars (possibly Elliott), Hendrick will be set for the next 10 years. And I would do anything just to bring MWR back to fielding 2 cars in 2016, because not only is Michael a younger owner, but he is one of the better teams now gone and to be replaced with a field filler. If any of the current powerhouses decline and no new ones come in, then NASCAR is in trouble. I think MWR's downfall is the beginning of the end of the powerhouses in NASCAR. And if more powerhouse teams die off without replacement, then NASCAR will cease to exist. 506. If I could, I would edit my post at Richmond and put Harvick at about 12th. He's been diverse all around and won all of the big races and he also has his race team to add as well. Just imagine what he could have done if he was at a team like Hendrick from the get go. I would say another 25 wins and at least another title. But as far as the other organizations, I don't think they have a plan of succession. Jack Roush doesn't have much there, as his son is a driver for his road racing operation, so I very much doubt he could take the reins there, Penske may have Tim Cindric as GM of the whole racing operation, but who would control the purse strings once Roger is no longer able to run things, and of course, Hendrick's whole plan of succession was lost in the 2004 HMS plane crash. And @493, the reason I think Trevor Bayne's health has more to do with his and the #6 team's lack of performance than anyone's saying has to do with the fact that he's had MS for over four years (I believe what happened in 2011 was the beginning of him having MS). At some point, having a disease that attacks the central nervous system has to affect the performance of a racer, and I thought that time had been reached. And the more physical the track, the tougher it's going to be on him. And I also think that's affecting his ability to communicate with his crew chief, and the Bayne/Osborne combination has been a disaster from the start, anyway. On a track like Daytona or Michigan, which are not demanding race tracks, he does okay, as was shown by his running up front at Daytona in the Firecracker 400 and his good run at Michigan, but a more demanding track, such as Dover, Darlington, and possibly even Charlotte, it's going to be tougher on him because he's more likely to run into problems that nobody else would figure to run into, because of having MS. Only his finish in the Bristol Night Race (15th), which was more from others having problems later in the race than how he ran, seems to dispute this. 508. Second you need to look at the how they got the results versus the end number by itself. Stenhouse has been faster than Bayne all year and it's not even close. Ricky's problem has been he tends to run out of talent and wrecks the car. Trevor for the most part has just been outright slow. from a pure speed standpoint Stenhouse has shown a lot more than Bayne has. The only thing Bayne has on him is that he's much more likely to bring the car home in one piece, but when he has a run like he did this week at Dover you have to ask if that trade off is really worth it. 518. racefangurl posted: 10.06.2015 - 2:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 517, when I said "not extraordinarily better" I meant none of the Roushkateers have been that good this year and that says terrible cars play a role, at least to me it seems that way. The way you talk about Ricky and Trevor makes me think of what some other fan said about Ryan Reed and Dylan K in the Nationwide/Xfinity series last year. Dylan was a wreckin' rookie and Ryan was slow, so except neither one's a true Cup rookie, Ricky and Trevor are a Cup version of that. It could be a difference in their driving styles. Ricky and Trevor, have different driving styles, I once read. Maybe they cope with terrible cars in a dramatically different way because of that, IMO. Ricky maybe pushes the car to do what it's not quite good enough to, so he wrecks and Trevor, perhaps doesn't push the car beyond what it can do, so he's slow. To continue my thoughts on Darlington, Dover and Bristol, a driver with limited Cup experience at these tracks, given how tough they are is unlikely to run really good. However, if Trevor was to get sick like he did in 2011, then I'd be ready to blame his performance on MS. Right now, it's just theoretical. Since there's no clear proof either way, given how the situation at Roush is, I'm taking somewhat of a wait and see approach, but leaning more towards other things, for now. 519. racefangurl posted: 10.06.2015 - 3:23 pm Rate this comment: (1) (1) Ricky drives more like Biffle or Edwards and Trevor drives more like Kenseth, in terms of style, I seem to remember seeing someplace. 520. The mere fact that the first attempt of the Bayne/Osborne combination resulted in a DNQ should have raised a big red flag right then and there. The difference in the speed that Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. have goes back to their racing roots. Bayne came up through a more traditional stock car feeder system, while Stenhouse came up through sprint cars, where you run as hard as you can for the duration of the race, often wide open through the entire race. That's why Stenhouse is faster, but not quite as reliable as a driver. Frankly, I think that's a big part of why Kyle Larson hasn't been more successful in NASCAR. He tries to run as hard as he can, and needlessly runs into trouble that way. However, Stenhouse has almost always run well at Dover and Bristol, which may the two tracks on the circuit best suited to drivers with dirt racing backgrounds, even more than the high banked 1.5 milers are. That's why Stenhouse is, more often than usual, closer to the front at Bristol and Dover. 524. All I was doing was replying to post 500 for his or her false claiming of thinking some people are drunk on this site. That post also was telling the truth about myself not typing while drunk as a way to debunk any false accusations. The other thing is I never got drunk my life either since I only drink 1 glass of wine on special occasions. It isn't against the law for anyone over the age of 21 like myself to drink on special occasions. 525. Now how exactly do you know that NO posters on this site are drunk? I'd say statistically Rockstar has a much better chance of being right than you. 529. You basically said a person shouldn't be clearing his or name of false claim. While Rockstar wasn't indicating who might be drunk, it is the time clear your name before the people wrongfully accuse you being one of the people drunk. What Rockstar did is no different than if I false accuse you of something that you didn't do. 530. The points were so close at the end with 5-6 drivers within 2 points, it's quite surprising, almost too close to be true (I don't think it was "fixed" but some chase drivers were a bit too conservative). The #47 spinning when Newman was about to be 2 laps down was pretty convenient too since he was the only driver a lap down after that. 532. One car in a league by itself, aside from restarts very little passing& the top story lines Harvick wins in clutch,Johnson eliminated with mechanical failure and Jr. passing a car that rarely breaks into the top 10 to transfer. Aside from Martinsville the rest of the "Chase" races will probably be boring too.Aero racing needs to go!Speak up fans ,NASCAR will listen. Look at the empty seats. 533. dalesrforever posted: 12.19.2015 - 6:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) last race in which Jeff Gordon finished outside the top ten 534. 88&4Fan posted: 01.14.2016 - 11:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The top five in this race consisted of five different race teams (Harvick for SHR, Busch for JGR, Junior for Hendrick, McMurray for Ganassi, and Almirola for Petty).
