I remember Derrike driving the #74 Sundance Vacations Dodge back in 2006-2007. Gray Gaulding will be in the #15 Premium Chevrolet because he brought sponsorship and Reed Sorenson will be in Iowa for the xfinity race in the #15 Chevrolet for JD Motorsports. Hope BK actually shows up with the #83 and don't withdraw like last week. I don't want to see another 37-car field, 38 is bad enough. Also, I hope the RWR #51 shows up as a post-entry to give us 39. I know the MBM #66 Chevrolet won't be at Pocano because they are in Iowa for the xfinity race with cars #13 and #40. With Sieg being in Iowa BK will have to find another driver if they do show up with the #83 Toyota. Joe Nemechek, Ryan Truex, Johnny Sauter, Travis Kvapil, T.J. Bell, Matt Crafton or Cody Ware are guys with cup experience who will be already in Pocano for the truck race and would be good choices for the BK #83 Toyota or the RWR #51 Chevrolet(should they show up post-entry). 3. JR-TV posted: 07.25.2017 - 9:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I really hope BK still runs the #83 this weekend. I would hate to see another race with just 37 cars. I also think it will be cool to see a new driver behind the wheel of a BK car. LeJoie is in the BK #23, Sieg and Gase are both in Iowa and Gaulding is no longer there and is driving the #15 so that means if they show up it will definitely be a new driver. I still say if you want a veteran that will keep the car clean pick Joe Nemechek, Johnny Sauter, Travis Kvapil, T.J. Bell, or Matt Crafton. But if you want a pretty cheap young rookie go with Jordan Anderson, Austin Hill, Cody Ware, Josh Reaume, or Wendell Chavous. 12. 95McDowellFan posted: 07.25.2017 - 10:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Please be Austin Hill 13. Then again, that could also mean their at the bottom of the list of drivers that might drive for BK this week, cause they're probably still waiting on their checks to clear from three years ago. 14. His time is more than filled running his truck team, and he's not going run a Cup race unless there's going to be a decent payout. Matt Crafton is unlikely - he has ties to JGR and I don't think they want him running Cup races, even for a Toyota team. Sauter isn't going to distract himself from chasing the truck title at this point in the season (not for a team like BK, at least). Kvapil or TJ Bell would be possible, but honestly I can't see why any team would pick either of them over a young guy. 21. Kyle Busch was saving his tires in Round 1 and it paid off for the pole for Round 3. He barely missed Round 1 by saving "too much" and it was still a successful strategy. On the flip side, while it was almost a guaranteed certainty that, if there were fewer than 16 drivers that won prior to the Chase cutoff, Kyle Busch was going to make the Chase basedon his points position, that fact that he won puts a 13th driver into winner's circle with five races still to go before the Chase cutoff, with one of those being the Wild Card race at Watkins Glen, where anything could happen. If a non-winner (or Joey Logano, who's one win doesn't count toward the playoffs due to a tech infraction) wins there next week with races at Bristol and Darlington still to come, Kasey Kahne (19th in points) and Austin Dillon (21st) may be getting pretty nervous, given that they're the top two in points among the 1-win drivers (though if A.J. Allmendinger won at Watkins Glen next week, then the pressure is off Kahne and Dillon, given Allmendinger's point position in relation to Kahne's and Dillon's). Points could be critical for Kasey Kahne and Austin Dillon if new winners keep coming, because there is now a distinct possibility that there may be more than 16 winners after the race at Richmond that sets the field for the Chase, since that's how a potential tie among the 1-win drivers would be broken, should there be more than 16 winners by the end of the race at Richmond. 117. He's the first driver ever in Cup to win at all Cup tracks including non-point races. Neither Petty, nor Pearson, nor Yarborough did it - they might won at all Cup tracks, but they needed a help from NASCAR that removed the track they were winless at (Petty and Yarborough were winless at Ontario, Pearson at Texas World). All Kyle needs to do is just get a win at both versions of Charlotte and his record will be official for more than one year, this season. Insane that Jeff Gordon needed 86 wins to have just 1 track left, but Kyle Busch hasn't have even 40 wins and has the same achievement... And I wonder, when will Matt Kenseth win to tie Kyle again? These two have been together as far as wins are concerned since 2011 and their win difference hasn't been more than 3 wins after each season. Unfortunately, Kenseth is 45 and Kyle just 32... With Stenhouse, Dillon, and Blaney all getting their maiden Cup series win this season, and with Chase Elliott overdue and the series coming to the track where Daniel Suarez, another non-winner, got his first XFinity Series win last year (Michigan), not to mention a road course, where he should be strong. And that's why I say that neither Kasey Kahne or Austin Dillon should be resting on their laurels, because as the two lowest 1-win drivers in the points (Kahne is 19th, Dillon 21st), should there be more than 16 winners after the 26th race, one of them is most likely to be on the outside looking in once the Chase field is set, because points would break a tie, and currently Austin Dillon would be out in such a scenario, but that could shift to Kahne, should he run into misfortune. Not even Ryan Newman, currently 15th in points, is entirely safe if he has a string of bad races, should there be 17 winners at the end of the 26th race. Frankly, I don't think there will be 17 winners by the Chase cutoff, but given the fact that so many good drivers have yet to win this season, combined with the fact that Joey Logano's one win doesn't count due to a major tech infraction (he would be the 14th winner if his win did count toward the playoffs), the possibility of there being more than 16 winners, and thus one winner being left out of the Chase playoffs, is not totally out of the question. 140. He only had 9 starts there. Pearson's only winless track was Spartanburg, and he had bad luck there. Also, most of his starts there came before his prime. Yarborough also never won Ontario during his prime, but he finished in the top 5 in 6 of his 7 starts there and led laps in each race. You literally have no argument for Gordon, unless you want to say that his 5 starts at a cookie-cutter Kentucky track late in his career that didn't produce a win (but did produce 5 top 10s) makes him a non-diverse driver. Also, your Daytona 500 comment makes little sense because every race since 1990 has been won by a team that had a history of winning. The only one that may be a stretch there would be Bill Davis Racing, but even they were pretty good at the time. You just have to count with the changes of the schedule and adapt to it. I'm with Kyle about his opinion that Daytona & Talladega aren't real racetracks. It may be exciting to see those big crashes, but I don't care about it. And I bet Kyle would like to win that race just once and then just race smoothly at SS.
