This race will be the first race back to use the low downforce package
since Phoenix, which was a wild one for sure and this race will most
likely follow suit on that!

Good news to hear if there's any today, NASCAR will get to be allowed to
race Pocono. And that means fox's last NASCAR cup and Xfinity races we
think but will wait and see is Talladega. And its good news that we will
see racing in the Pocono Triangle. So that has happened now, Still we
are curious about Texas, Michigan, Dover, and Kansas. But on a side note
Charlotte joined, Texas, Daytona, Homestead, Indianapolis Las Vegas,
Pocono, Darlington Richmond, Phoenix, Bristol, all in having high school
graduations at the race track Iowa Speedway who didn't get there NASCAR
events this year got there area kids a graduation at the track too,
while Kentucky Speedway has a special event with Graduates to drive the
track, great move for all and congrats to all to graduated I bet its a
cool experience which makes getting the Charlotte 2 done even better for
them so they could have their big day. Thats a lot of tracks at least 12
tracks doing that.

Also The Athletic is reporting that 8 tracks will likely have there
dates announced soon, and I think its next week they'll be announced,
And according to Bob Pockrass two tracks Dover and Michigan will be
likely getting doubleheaders, and I think its makes sense as I said a
while both do not got lights, so they might have to play two. Also In
there is the All-Star Race too. So They'll get it done. So you might not
get MLB or MLS All-Star Games once before they both resume but you guys
should get the NASCAR All-Star Race. We know I think Pocono, Indy,
Kentucky, New Hampshire, I know for sure they won't get touched, and
Texas will finally be announced too I think. So I know NASCAR will use
the two off weeks to get a race in I know as I said TMS Will likely be
one. But I don't know who the other would be I bet it likely is KANSAS.
Thats the other track I am 100% will be rescheduled too in July. Maybe
both will air on fox considering NBC will be very busy with other
programming including NHL, and Premier League and PGA Tour and INDYCAR
Too. So were getting somewhere come on NASCAR tell me who gets it, We
Know everything from now til JUne 21st Its sound like I know which two
likely will be rescheduled and whom likely might be double-headers and
the All-Star Race Too!!!! So Maybe I could see more guys win this year
who might make the all-star race this year. But Who? Stenhouse was
closest Thursday who would have been in with a win to make it, since he
did not win in 18 or 19. YOu have to win this year or last or be a
former champion via a decade or a past champion to make it in case you
didn't know.

I wonder if the Texas race in July will have some fans. A couple of days
ago, governor Greg Abbott announced that Texas will allow sports to host
events with fans at up to 25% of capacity.

Bubba Wallace came out worse than anyone with the qualifying draw. He
only dropped out of the top 24 in points because of that late crash at
Charlotte, but he'll start way back in 36th.

I don't know why they can't just have qualifying like they did for the
Coke 600. It's not like they do the multiple rounds of qualifying
anymore. Just two laps for all drivers and done. Would only take 30
minutes or a bit more.

@14 Running qualifying would bring in the need for backup cars. By not
practicing or qualifying, teams only need to bring one race car. Given
the reduction of income this year, I believe this is seen as a cost
savings measure.

I agree Zach. Starting position at Bristol is too crucial to be
determined by a draw. Even if Bubba has a top 10 car, he'll likely be a
lap down by lap 25 due to where he's starting.

If they're not going to have qualifying, then just start them in owner
points order or something. Or else make the draw be top 10, 11-20,
21-30, etc. so that you start a little closer to where you actually are
in points.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the first time since 2005
that the first cup race at Bristol is on Sunday and then the Xfinity
race is on Monday

Yep thats correct because in 2005 when in the Spring Bristol race for
the Xfinity series was rained out Saturday, ran on Monday we saw Kevin
Harvick win, but does anyone remember Dale Jarrett caught for a not so
kind gesture directed to Shane Hmiel? Yeah it is the same one we saw
Chase Elliott do a few weeks ago the middle finger?

That's another not-so-nice moment in the history of Shane Hmiel's career
there. It's really a shame - he showed so much promise. Jarrett had
every right to be mad at him, though. He couldn't be controlled by that
point. Shane would start just 9 more races across the top-3 series in
his career after that Monday afternoon at Bristol.

anyone with this comment but with everything that's been going on the
last few days with all the violence and negativity as a result of the
murder of George Floyd I'm glad to be watching racing today instead of

I'm behind in the race (fast forwarding commercials) and just saw the
restart after the Newman spin. It's so much better to restart 12th than
it is 9th, 8th than it is 5th, etc. In the future, Nascar will address
this problem. Hopefully the future is soon.

Ryan Blaney spins in the high groove while running second behind Brad
Keselowski. Blaney didn't hit anything initially but Ty Dillon hit him

Ty Dillon has also retired his GEICO car as a result of that wreck.
Blaney went straight to the garage but Dillon's team tried to fix the
#13 Chevrolet before realizing the damage couldn't be repaired in time
to reenter the race. Dillon caught a little air driving over Blaney and
it looks like that wrecked the suspension.

Jimmie Johnson turns Ricky Stenhouse and sets up a pileup that involved
eight cars. Kudos to Corey LaJoie and Gray Gaulding, it looks like they
both sneaked past Stenhouse's spinning car on the very inside of the
track with little to no damage.

We need to stop calling every crash with more than 3 cars a Big One.

Big Ones can only take place at Daytona and Talladega and must contain
at least a dozen cars.

Not calling anyone in particular out, the term has been completly
watered down at this point. This was just a damn Bristol crash.

I guess the big one wanted to happen a few weeks early. Its The Bristol
Stump Big One, We had't seen something that big like that much at
Bristol through in 2018 both races had more than 7 cars in one wreck and
the Night race 2018 had the 3rd largest Cup Series wreck that year. But
anyhow there is our 2nd big huge crash of 2020, Had the double big one
in the Daytona 500 but no real world big one crash until well just
moments ago. Well Cue me the Tony Rivera soundbite please.

It looks like after Hamlin was passed by Logano and Elliott, and Elliott
drove Logano up the race track a little and looked like Logano was
literally about to the same thing Hamlin did, except it bit Hamlin as
Hamlin got into Logano and forced Hamlin to actually spin.

Yes most yellows at Bristol in 14 years and most in NASCAR since the
2015 Southern 500 and also Martinsville 2008 18 those two races. Can we
please equal that mark in terms of most yellows in NASCAR since 2007.

Bristol win. and hey Daniel Suarez, and Timmy Hill both got lead lap
finishes, outstanding, 2nd best cup series finish for MBM And first lead
lap finish since Brickyard 2017 for Timmy Hill, and Bubba Wallace got a
Top 10, and Christopher Bell has his 2nd Top 10 too. And a much needed
Top 15 for Ryan Preece. and Bowyer on his birthday almost a win but he
and fellow birthday boy Erik Jones Top 5;s. and Nemechek, and McDowell
got Two Front Row Top 15's in the same race for the 2nd time in 2020 did
that at Daytona too. I smell argument with Chase, and Logano.

Not going to lie, when Chase Elliott got straight into the bumper of
Logano the first time after Logano passed him, it looked eerily similar
to the 2017 fall Martinsville race when Denny Hamlin did the similar
move to Chase Elliott.

At least Joey Logano pulled it correctly at the 2018 fall Martinsville
race on Martin Truex, Jr.

the comersvand goers, the bump and run, no rain. That was classic
Bristol, and it's awesome. I thought Midweek Darlington couldn't be
beat, but this is another amazing race. As an Elliott fan, I'm not even

I don't put any blame on Chase for the contact with Logano because it
was clear that there was something on the track that made that happen,
Logano and Hamlin both did the same thing right before Hamlin wrecked.
But he should've ran away with it on the last restart and instead got in
his own head by running the outside. That was on him.

Just a crazy race and a finish for the ages all around, I can't even be
mad at anything.

Honestly, as a Chase fan, this hurts. But Logano did nothing wrong.
Elliott slipped up the race track and was trying very hard for the win,
honestly. I would have probably done the samething. Either way, it was a

close to being the fourth, 12 laps shy.

Kyle Busch led for the first time since the Daytona 500, 8 races ago,

Joey Logano has no right to complain about people racing him hard or
just wrecking him. He's done the same thing his whole career and even
dived bombed his way to a championship. Ask Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin,
Martin Truex, Matt Kenseth, or... well, hell ask anyone that's out
there, that's the way he races so he has no gripe.

Logano was wrong to say that he "passed" Elliott clean. He did not pass
him clean. He was still mere inches from clearing Chase. He made contact
with Chase's front bumper when he came up on him so that wasn't "clean".
That being said, Chase went in wayyyy to deep, but he probably felt
compelled to do that because of Logano chopping off his nose moments
prior. Chase had several poor restarts. I wonder if he even warmed up
his tires during the late cautions? It could have been that he was just
bad on short runs. It looked like he was literally in the driver's seat
to win starting from he outside. I'm still wondering why Logano bumped
Chase when the caution came out for Hamlin after they both passed Hamlin
when Hamlin was having his issues. Chase didn't make any contact with
Logano at all then. Logano was very close just leading a handful of laps
and winning the race. That could have been a record for least laps led
and winning at Bristol. FactCheck.

To me, they both have wins and both appear to be threats to win the
championship at season's end. I'm sure this will be revisited down the
line, but to me it was just hard racing at Bristol and I don't think
it's going to have any ramifications on the championship. So it wasn't a
big deal. I believe it would have been good for NASCAR if the two would
have had some type of altercation. However, at least this race was
eventful at the end.

As for Brad Keselowski, never count this guy out. He NEVER gives up. The
two tire stop proved to be pivotal getting him back in position to have
a chance and he took advantage of it much like he did of the situation
last Sunday. Here lately he has been the 2001-2013 version of Kevin
Harvick's "closing". Congrats to the possible "lame duck" Kez.

Three drivers led 60+ laps and none finished in the top 10. Had Logano
and Chase finished 1-2 the points standings would have been a lot
closer. Logano actually may have passed Harvick for the lead.

the same way. He could knock Rusty out of wins at Bristol, yet when
someone would knock him out of the way (Kenseth) it was wrong. As Denny

downforce with their old bodies but Hendrick engine power was enough to
see them through it.

Jimmie says they couldn't trim their cars out the way the other OEMs
could and that's where the new Chevy body is better.

Austin Dillon's 6th-place finish keeps the strong - relatively speaking
to the past few years, anyway - start for Childress going. RCR has 11
top-15 finishes through the first 9 races, something it took them 16
races to do last year. Continuing with the mid-tier Chevy team
resurgence, Bubba Wallace already has more top-10s for RPM than he did
all of last season (2 to 1, which is a pretty low bar admittedly, but
that team needs any kind of positive news they can get) while Ricky
Stenhouse Jr. has done the same for JTG's top-5s number (also 2 to last
year's 1, but shh...).

Can't quite say the same for Germain & Ty Dillon, they've looked kinda
lost out there since the return to racing. The highlights of leading the
opening laps of the second Darlington race and Ty briefly tracking
towards the pole in the 600 (before having to get out of the gas and
qualify 16th) really pale in comparison.

OangeWaffle very rarely post in these comments but he does take part in
the fantasy game-related blog entries and has been around for a while.

If you go to the home page of racing-reference.info, scroll all the way
to the bottom, you can find them there. The comments within those
fantasies does not show up in the "recent comments" section whatsoever.

Regardless, besides the one Anonymous who can't form a complete English
sentence to save his life, all of the Anonymous are roughly the same.
I've gathered they are just the GiveMajeskiAChance/Me. fella who tries
to hide his identity multiple times and he just spams his feelings away.

So let me explain the way I saw it. Because the incident between Logano
and Elliott with three laps to go started almost a full lap before. What
happened was Logano was trying to clear the #9 for the lead, and decided
he had enough to do it off turn 4. It was razor close but the #22 had
just enough space to clear the #9, who had the outside momentum, and
when Joey did that, Chase took that move as an invitation to drop the
gloves. Chase then put the bumper to Logano into turn 1 and moved the
#22 up the track, which then led to the crash in turns 3 and 4. Just
good hard racing. Love it!

Kyle Busch can easily sleep at night due to 2 reasons. First, Kevin
Harvick finished 11th and the post-race inspection is over, so his
streak of consecutive top 10s is over and he won't tie Kyle's and
Shepherd's record of 11 top 10s in the first 11 races of the season. And
second, Kyle managed to lead 100 laps, so he's not that horrible as
someone can think around here. He just isn't good enough to win yet, but
this was just race #9 out of #36. Still plenty of time to get on a roll
and this was a good feedback.

#344 If Kyle really cared about the best Top 10 streak to start the
season then he wouldn't still be tied to Shepherd at the moment. I doubt

When I wrote about this yesterday I did not mention Martinsville in 2015
I said Darlington well both did have 18 yellows, but yes yesterday had
the most yellows in a NASCAR National Series race since 2015. My
Mistake, My Mistake, My bad.

This was a great race! The Bristol races the past few years have been
awesome. The traction compound is great. As for Kes, what can you say.

This was a great race. Bristol has put on an incredible show since
~2014, and now especially so with the traction compound at the bottom.

@351 The sad thing about all that is that NASCAR got relegated to FS1,
while the main FOX channel was showing a Super Bowl from 15 years ago.

Exactly I imagine there are stipulations that a certain number of races
have to be on FOX and a certain number have to be on FS1 and a certain
number need to be on NBC and NBCSN. The whole point of putting races and
other sports on cable channels is to force the consumer to complain to
the cable companies so they are forced to put those channels on cheaper
packages which ends up giving the networks more money. When this whole
thing started I thought for sure we were probably going to miss out on
several races this year and I read an article that says NASCAR simply
can't do that they have to fulfil their contract with the networks for
every race or they won't get paid.
