The track owner, Steve Brucker, had a lease was set to expire in 2005.
He was murdered in 2003 in an attempted home invasion, sending the
track's future into deep uncertainty. Cajon made it through the rest of
the 2003 season and part of 2004 before shuttering.

This track and all its facilities were razed in 2007 although it looks
like some of its old pavement from both oval and a infield figure 8
course remain. The track property is now largely just an open field.
