The site was then used to build a shopping center in 1970. 2. OWEN OLI posted: 08.13.2014 - 12:46 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) MY UNCLE OWEN LOGGINS RACED ON THIS TRACK 3. The 1967 map shows the Cal State Fairgrounds in the same place that Google Maps is showing it today (2018). There was a track in 67 and it is still there now. Looks like a horse track which would make it about a mile. Poster #1. Good info that the track was at the fairgrounds. Where were the fairgrounds? I found another "Fairgrounds" on the 1967 map. I wrote this track up in one of these comment boxes which I was looking for another track in Sacramento. (this) This was a racetrack at the fairgrounds that might be the place. It shows on the Sacramento 1967 map. Looks like now the 1/2 turns are under the Cal Dept of Justice and the parking lots. This track sure looks like more than .5 miles. The infield was a pond. Looks like a horse track which makes it probably a mile. 4. Today it is the location of the UC-Davis Medical Center. A track is very visible on old shots at Historic Aerials. The track was between what is now 49th and 50th Streets, and stretched nearly from Broadway to what is now X Street. The site appears to have been absolutely transformed since the late 60's with virtually no clues on the ground or above as to it's former configurations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
