As Los Angeles grew though history quickly repeated itself, the Beverly Hills track lasted just under four years and this new track in Culver City wouldn't even make it to its third anniversary but land here too also grew too valuable and it was torn down. The land was redeveloped for housing use with some repurposed as a public park, the first in Culver City. The property where this track was built had some racing pedigree, before the construction of the speedway it was home to a failed horse racing track. Culver City, already gaining a reputation as being home to many movie studios, was selected as the site of this track in part due to easy access from several Los Angeles street car lines. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
