Much better known as a horse racing track. Sadly demolished to make way
for a housing development...

All three races were run on the legendary 1 mile horse track. Track now
history after 2008, when the track was torn down for housing development.

Well, this is one that is definitely paved over. How does the Southern
version of that song go? "They tore down the track and put up a parking
lot".

If you do a mental overlay from the aerial view on wiki and match it up
with the Google maps "Bay Meadows San Mateo Ca" you can imagine the
track. (hint...look for McCown Ave which seems to be just inside the
back stretch)

There's a park called Paddock Park next to McCown avenue, it's probably
related
