The ocean-side Los Angeles Municipal Airport has been renamed a few
times but today it is Los Angeles International Airport. LAX remains the
city's main airport.

Racing took place here on unpaved courses set up near the airport from
1934 to 1936. There's a great article on the track here...

I'm expecting them to close up LAX for a couple days one of these years
and have another Indy Car race on the runways
