Cooper posted: 03.15.2010 - 1:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Starlite Speedway Located between Monroe and Charlotte NC, Starlite Speedway ran from 1960 to 1976. It was a .4 mile dirt track with an irrigation system to try and keep the dust down. In 1985 the track was covered over and a business park built on the site. A trucking company converted the old ticket booth to house fuel pumps and used it to service their trucks. 2. A posted: 07.07.2020 - 10:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) If you search 1717 Ashton Avenue, Monroe NC, and check out Google Streetview, you can see what appears to be the old ticket booth just NW of the Parks Williams Athletic Complex. It looks like it has a historic marker on it, which I can't quite make out on streetview.
