Tri-City Speedway is a former NASCAR track, located in High Point, NC.
It was a half-mile, dirt track that held 200 laps races, including
Sprint Cup events in 1953 and 1955.

Track closed in the 60's.

Well, there was no "Sprint Cup" back then. It wasn't corporate back
then. It was men racing.

There was already a handful of cars with sponsorship in the 1953 race.
And you can still see men racing in NASCAR today.

I don't know what the textbook definition is, but you can't even lie to
me and say anyone today is as tough or mature as those guys were.

Abandoned track was still pretty visible in 1965 aerial views, but
already pretty much gone in 1968. It looks like some of the oval might
be extremely slightly visible in the trees even today.

There is a nice historical marker in remembrance of the track that is
pictured online, but I can't pinpoint exactly where the marker is located.
