Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds was a 1/2 mile dirt oval located on the
Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds near Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Was originally meant to be the Hub of NASCAR. Track was very popular for
a long time, until the area was contracting due to businesses leaving.
NASCAR than left the track, leaving the track to deteriorate.

anyone know why there is a track called Hub City Speedway with the sam
amount of races with the same start and end dates and located in the
same city as this track?

Anyone know why Hub City Speedway and Piedmont Interstate Speedway Link
off to the Same page on the Track listings and why they have the same
number of races and the exact same start and end years and are in the
same city?

@3 - I just noticed that as well. Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds and
Hub City Speedway are listed separately on the tracks page, but both
appear to link to the exact same page with the exact same comments and
everything.

Outline of the track and some fencing are still pretty visible on
satellite views and Google streetviews, and the bleachers are still
there. Looks like it may still be used for some fair activity but
appears to be more and more neglected in recent years.

Go to 581 Fairgrounds Road, Spartanburg, SC on streetview and you'll see
a ticket building that appears to date back to the racing days. Recently
a colorful mural was added to the building that includes a small image
of a vintage stock car, so that is neat to see at least.
