Located at the corner of Tryon and Sugar Creek, it operated from the 40s to 1961. It featured stock cars, open wheel racers, and motorcycle races during its era. In November, 1961 Ralph Earnhardt, then running second, was about to pass the leader and wound up upside down in the creek off the third turn. This track and many other tracks in the Carolina's became defunct due to expansion of cities in surrounding areas. 2.
