It's been closed a time or two in the last decade due to neighbors
complaining about noise after knowingly moving in next to a race track.
Ownership changes every few years. The Huffman and Leicht families have
been among recent owners, and there were rumors of Dennis Setzer or the
Earnhardt family buying it at one time. It doesn't draw much of a crowd
with Hickory being near by.

Tri-County held a UARA race this past Friday. The county only allows a
few races a year at this track due to whiny neighbors. Some moved to the
area after the track was built and others agreed for the track to be
built and then complained.

They already switched to paved from dirt years ago due to the complaints
of neighbors. If they didn't want to live next to a race track, they
should have stopped it from being built or not moved in.

Track announced today it again is under new ownership. They're still
finalizing classes and sanctioning for next year, according to the
announcement.

I've actually been pleasantly surprised with the number of races there
over the past couple seasons. Not weekly, by any means, but a good
amount of activity.
