The ARCA races here were the Capital City 100 it because Mason, where
this track is located, is a suburb of Lansing, the state capital of
Michigan. The name Spartan Speedway is also a reference to the sports
teams of Michigan State University in nearby East Lansing who are of
course the Spartans.
