Along with the Illinois State Fairgounds, this is the only dirt track
that ARCA currently races on.

Used for both horse and car racing, this track has been a longtime host
of both ARCA stock car and USAC Silver Crown races. This track was built
in 1946 on reclaimed land that was once a strip mine, the DuQuoin fair
started in 1923 and it had a half-mile horse racing oval before this one
was built. This track hosted the famous Hambletonian Stakes harness
horse race from 1957 to 1980 before the race returned to the New York
City area.
