Slinger first opened in 1948 with the banked track promoting itself as
the "World's Fastest Quarter Mile Oval." The iconic little track has
also proved to be a hotbed of racing talent as drivers like Matt
Kenneth, Alan Kulwicki, and Dick Trickle raced here on their way up the
ladder. This track's most famous race is the Slinger Nationals, a
200-lap late model special each summer that is held on a Tuesday night
so it can attract some top level stock car talent to come battle the
locals.

The winner of this year's Slinger Nationals will be the grassroots
legend competing at Slinger in SRX, a ringer of sorts.
