Run on a temporary two-mile road course made up of airport runways, it remained(until Toyota) the only race in NASCAR's premier series which allowed foreign cars to compete. In fact, nearly half of the 43-car field were sports cars, including the winner -- a Jaguar, driven by Al Keller. The road course was a temporary 2 Mile raceway located on the Linden Municipal Airport. Auto racing was discontinued in 1955. The airport was an integral place during World War II as it built military aircraft. 2. Aldo posted: 02.27.2014 - 12:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Half of the airport is now shopping mall. 3. I do believe there was one more, but I don't recall what it was. Only one international car madw that last one, if my memory is correct. 5.
