Now the trucks are a little more (more like a lot) boring. 2. Featuring moderately high banks and a wide racing surface, it is suitable for close racing and passing. The track hosts an ARCA RE/MAX Series race in 2009. It also hosted the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series from 2004 to 2008. The facility received a safety upgrade in 2006 when SAFER barriers were installed in the turns. During pre-race ceremonies, a custom at the track was to play the Godsmack song, "Awake", over the public address system as backing music for driver introductions. This is likely a nod to the video for this song which was filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory, also located in Mansfield. In December 2008, it was announced that Mansfield Motorsports Park will give up its future Camping World Truck Series race, and close its doors. The Camping World Truck Series race date was moved to Iowa Speedway. 3. chris o posted: 09.05.2012 - 8:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) track is closed 4. According to Milliron, the purchase was to acquire the real estate, but he would re-open the track if someone can be found to run it 5. Operator currently only intends to host track days and low level races, to maybe get the track back on its feet. 6. Big news, this track is GOING DIRT IN 2017 for the first time since 1998. It will also be renamed from Spitzer Motor Speedway to Mansfield Motor Speedway, and they have secure the track's future for the next three years. So while the dirt surface limits its options in terms of high level series, it at least will be around for another couple years. 7. Seibaru posted: 01.06.2017 - 5:26 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The Earnhardts are a bit confusing, but the relationship between Jeffrey and Bobby Dale is pretty simple: they're brothers. Bobby Dale is the older one. They are both the son of Kerry, and are both nephews to Dale Jr. (not half-nephews, just nephews). 12. Sean posted: 01.07.2017 - 11:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) How would they NOT be half-nephews if Kerry and Junior have different mothers? 13. Seibaru posted: 01.07.2017 - 12:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @12 Because there are no such thing as half-nephews or half-nieces. They are simply nephews. The 'half' prefix only goes as far as half-siblings. (This is debatable, admittedly; Wiktionary and Webster do have a definition for half-nephew, but I have never heard a genealogist use the term, and I'm going to side with the latter) 14. And being the track was located just mere minutes from the prison isn't a good look at all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
