My father(Paul Chaney) own the car,and Bernie Helmbright was the driver in 1958. My dad pass away in 1998, but I have talked to Bernie and he said the car got upside down and another car ended up on my dad's car. There was a picture taken before the race and there's a picture after the crash with the car sitting on top. The car was a 48 or 49 Olds 88 and the number was 88. If anyone can help me my e-mail is spopps50@aol.com Thank you! 3. The last remnant, a section of turn 4, faded away in 2010. 5. No one in town has ever really talked about having a track in it, not too many NASCAR fans either. 6. It appears on aerial views that some kind of park existed back in the 50's and 60's, and the current Murphy Park parking lot is located at what was basically the wall of turn four. The park looks very nice on streetview but sadly doesn't appear to have any historic markers or acknowledgment of the track history. 7.
