Yes, they did.

By the way, this track is not actually in Huntington. It is outside the
city limits in Cabell County near Ona and Barboursville.

Was it really closed all the way from 1972-2007? It looks like it was
maintained fairly well over those years based on the satellite views at
historic aerials. Sometime after the early NASCAR era a small airport
was built right by the race track, and in modern times the entrance road
is in a very different location than back in this early cup era.
