The resort had a tagline of, 'Kill all your cares', and the name stuck somewhat. It's also got a shorter infield track, a figure eight, and separate drag strip. The track closed early in 2014, but reopened in 2015, and is still active. 2. rm posted: 12.30.2017 - 5:44 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) The track was originally a dusty quarter mile dirt track. After one dirt race, it was paved over. Originally intended to be a low banked half mile oval, construction of the drag strip impeded on the paving project and the shape was altered a la Darlington. Darrell Waltrip one said that this track had 17 turns, since you're steering left pretty much the whole way around. 3.
