A total of 5 Grand National Races were run from 1951-1955. 2. George A. I helped Roy Bowden of Bowden Motors in Morris Plains with his sportsman stock car I think it was a 1939 Ford coupe with a small V8 engine. I don't remember the number of the car. Roy had Johnny Cabral and Johnny Rogers drive for him and I think his son in law Ray Merril drove several races too. As the car did not place well or finish many races it is not included in the NASCAR history. Our car made it through the fence and ended up on the lackawana tracks at least once. Are there any pictures or history about the track, there were several photographers in the infield for every race using cameras with flash bulbs. I remember Bobby Van Cott, Parker Tunis the one armed driver and others. Thank you George 3. The track was in the late 1950- Early 1960 the track was torn down 3. NASCAR ran the track for 4 years 1951-1955 4. The track was made on a park, after NASCARs stoped racing there it was most likely a sports field 5. I also found some photos of the place ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
